Snotels showing about 4-6". Webcam at antelope shows still snowing. Forecast calls for 8-10" today.

Snow at lodge

We only got 4 inches last night. The sun is up and it's clear skies.....they are calling for 100% snow today and 80% tonight...we'll see...:face-icon-small-sad

We are at Arrowhead Cabin 19 & 20. Stop by and say hello! They got maybe 4 inches last night. Looking at Antelope Butte webcam they also maybe got 4 inches.

It's -1, no wind and trying to be sunny. Doesn't look good for anymore snow. :face-icon-small-sad

Snow

We got an additional 1/2 inch this morning and that was all. We had 13 folks come over from Burgess Junction side and said we ended up with more here and on the downwind side there was good drifts. They found more snow starting about 7 miles from Burgess Junction towards us just off 14a/Trail H. They played on this side then headed back. Sunny here already. All rooms and cabins open and available for the weekend.

Nothing new last night

No new snow last night .....it's 12 below right now....clear skies. Looks like it's going to be a good day for riding in sun. Looks like a chance of snow today 40% and then 20% till mid week before jumping up to 50%. (Of course it was a 80% last night:face-icon-small-con)

2nd rail on our fence is covered in some areas, some deep drifts in areas too. Trails are being groomed 4 times a week. There are many open areas to roam just have to be careful.

I went boondocking a couple days ago and was 11th in a line of sleds and ran over some tree's and stumps but did no damage. Got stuck, on the 600 short track/wide ski's, a couple times but they pulled me out.

We were in the Big Horns yesterday, but since there are certain people here who do not like my honest straight to the point reporting of the conditions. And as I said the last time, I will keep my opinion of what we found to myself. So I have nothing to report. Sorry to those who told me they appreciated my honesty.

Screw'em, I'll take the honest report.

It was 10 below when we hopped on the sleds at Bear. Looked to be about the same conditions as we saw on the 23rd. We headed out towards Granite. Trails are still snow mixed with dirt in places and you can still hear the skis grinding on the trails. We dumped the trails about 2 miles north of Antelope and headed east into the trees and found some pretty deep snow in and out of the trees and the meadows were deep also. We were having a great time in the snow with a couple of stucks by the grandson and then we tipped one sled over and oil started pouring out. Seems like some dumb**** (that would be me) forgot to put the oil cap back on when he filled it. Anyways we have a sled with no oil. so I thought I would head back to the truck on my sled to get a couple of quarts, leaving the other 3 to wait. I get about half way back and hear a bad noise and a bad smell. Stop and look around and my Y pipe had come loose and I was missing 4 bolts. Darn Skidoo's and that problem. Anyways 2 hours later we are all rounded back up and loading to go home with one oily snowmobile and one very loud snowmobile. The good news is we were able to find good snow and am confident we would have found plenty more places to play that hadn't been touched. The grandson showed some more improvement on riding and the wife loves the 09 600 I found for her over the 99 670X she was riding, It was a short but good day.

Thanks to the 4 who stopped for me and found the other 3 and told them I was broke down.

snow

Had 11 people come by yesterday for beer, warmth and food. They all said we need more snow but also said they found some areas to ride. They said if we just had 2 more feet this place would be awesome....I agree and am waiting for the snow to pile up. It's -9 right now, light winds with flurries. No new snow totals overnight.

Lost two this weekend. Need snow.

Bout ten miles. He got good at it. Was doing 40ish in that pic.

We made it 5 miles today and a guy did the same thing. Sean got nominated to ride his out too haha.

Even more coming

Weather service told me it's a moist northwest flow and we should get 6 more inches before it's done.:bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce:

High Country

Stopped in at High Country Sunday. Haven't been there in a few years. I like what they have done with it. Corey was awesome and we had great burgers and warmed up while catching the end of the game.. If you are up that way seriously swing in.. best lodge on the mt IMO

We stayed at hc last year, had an awesome meal and is a nice place to stay. Only problem is the lack of a bar or anything to do other than watch tv. I like to play pool, foosh ball, or darts in the evening. We told them if they added on even a small bar with a pool table the place would be booked all year. Not sure that the owner who I believe is a doctor, wants to take it in that direction but that is why many guys don't want to stay there. Plus they only have beer and I hate beer lol

More snow

We are up to 10 inches now and still coming down. 23 is the temp and wind is minimal. Have 3 guys from Burgess Junction side here for lunch and they said wind not bad along north H trail. Was windy along highway from intersection of H trails to our lodge.

We won't be going direction of liquer here...just beer. There is plans for a rec center and rv spaces but not till we get our occupancy numbers up. We are still sitting empty and have rooms and cabins available.

Yep, not a party lodge. Just a place to kick back and relax after a long day of riding the open meadows on this side.

And that's the problem, occupancy numbers probably won't go up until some amenities are added. Most sled guys I know and have seen are not just sit around the fire and watch tv type guys. Not saying every night after a ride I go sit in the bar and get plowed but we like to have things to do like pool, darts ect. I understand the reasons for the lodge not wanting to go the bar type direction, as it leads to other issues that some guests don't want to deal with. I enjoyed the night we stayed last year, but to stay more than a night with not much to do doesn't appeal to me unless there is no place else to stay.
