Snow at wyoming high country lodge

Been flurries since 0300 this morning...only about an inch new stuff so far. Had a group (SW member) come over from Bear Lodge today and agreed we have more snow over here. Wish we were closer to the Burgess junction side so people wouldn't have to drive the extra 2 hours to get to Lovell and us, then they wouldn't have to ride the 2 hrs back and forth to get to better snow. Anyway, they said they would be back on this side during their stay this week and I will take them out to some untouched areas over here. No wind the last 24hrs and temps are remaining about 10-15.

Corey,

We are headed out tomorrow will be riding friday to monday we will probably swing in to grab a bite to eat and say hi.

Last nights snow.....

Flurries continued into night. Still only produced 1/2 inch. No winds...low down to 4. Groomer is on night runs of trails now and stopped in last night. Said there are still 2 spots he can't make better so sleds have to use side of road to get arond out on 14a. (Same 2 spots I went around) He said we were getting more snow, with the flurries, on this side. Left us some trail maps.

Cloudy skies this morning but no snow right now. Calling for 70% chance today with 1-2 inches accumilation. We'll see.

still snowing

Flurries picked up again about noon...1/2 inch already and still coming down. Never got above 10 degree's today. No woind either. Took out 6 folks from Bear Lodge on a tour today on this side and found more fresh powder for them. Doesn't seem to be a lot of people up here yet. Have 2 of our cabins rented this weekend and those folks are already out sledding.

Here's to hoping it keeps it up:wine:, hoping to get down there next week, gotta get the sleds out of this dry country.:face-icon-small-hap

Rumors of fresh snow

Had about 45 people stop by yesterday for lunch, drink and fuel and said they were finding fresh snow...NW of 14a towards Bald Mtn and then out in the Porcupine Falls/Bucking Mule Falls area. If I remember right there is some nice valley's off Duncum Mtn area. My guests said they did make it up the switchbacks (FR11) and stopped at the top. The drifts were ok to ride on the outside of the road....the inside was bare from wind. Starting to see repeat customers....

Thanks for the updates. deciding between horns or snowies to bring a couple of kids (12 and 16 ). out west to for first time. Ive never personally been to the horns. are the trails marked good? been going to the snowies for 12 years now

Snow at lodge

3 inches new powder last night and still flurries are coming down. Light now and it looks like tracks from weekend are filling in.

Had about 100 people stop in the last 3 days. Most were out of staters coming from the north or north east. A few locals from Sheridan and Powell.

Maybe you all can help...most people were staying in Burgess Junction area and then riding over here to sled because we have more snow...then going back. A few groups did this all 3 days. What has happened at this lodge that stops people from coming over here and staying?

We have cabins from $50-$75...rooms from $65-$100, offer free pick up and deliver of luggage, friendly service, fuel, guide service to the untouched powder areas, groomed trails and wide open areas and still some untouched areas. Any thought's?

I'm new to the area and have not been to the snowies. I have talked to guests and visitors that have done both and both are or can be impressive. We have great groomed trails although they might be a little thin right now over near Burgess Junction. This side has a few trails, well groomed and packed but many more open areas, meadows and hills. Kids 12 and 16 would be fine out here. Had 5 kids 10 and under stop in yesterday and they had a blast on this side. Had a visitor (Paul) say they had been to the snowies and a friend talked him into coming to the horns yesterday. He was happy he did. Everyone see's it differently so you owe it to yourself to come at least once and make your own decision.

For some they want the night life of BearLodge and the convenience of the trailer and tools being handy, But most of us are creatures of habit.

You have a nice place there, Just keep up the advertising they will come. :face-icon-small-hap

Your website shows the cheapest room available at $130. I'd like to see more pictures of the rooms, and maybe what the menu is?

Well I for one didn't realize that your rooms were priced like what you said above, and I also didn't know that you guys would pick up luggage and such.

Yeah I don't think a lot of people know any of that info on your place. You should put all of that info on your web page to let everyone know. I wish I would of known and I would of booked a cabin when I come out next month.
