2011/12 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

The most unstable snow is still on the steep windloaded hills. Found one last saturday that started to slide a little once we rode on it. It had a big cornice at the top and if it ever slid i think it would be bad, so there are spots that you have to be careful on.

The snow was more on the heavy side, sleds got a workout. Loving my new sled, that thing just plain old works!

Thanks Tyler

jaws

anyone riding in the jaws area from cowcamp watch yourself there is a 7 to 8 foot hole the snow fell off and i ended up in the bottom off so u might want to keep your guard up in that area its right across the road from the cabins

I'm thinking of coming out to the bighorns at the end of march or early April and was wondering where a good place to stay/rent would be? Thanks for info

Bear lodge is the only rentals up top that I know of. Bear lodge and Elk view are the two best lodges.
