2011/12 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

Got a group heading up this weekend from South Dakota, probably going to unload at bear. What would be the best direction to go?

Hey guys just wondering how the snow conditions are out there? Heading west tomorrow morning thinking of going to cooke but hear its pretty tracked up. Thanks

We're on our way out, going through Minnesota right now. There are three of us and one first timer. Want the first time to be a good one. Can anyone help me out on which way to head? We're staying at elk view. Any help would be great!

These little storms that we keep getting are going to add up. Looks like it snowed yesterday all the snotels went up today. Another little storm looks like rolling in tomorrow night and then sunday. Got a 3 day weekend so i hope it dumps! Just looked at Bear Lodges website and they reported 8" as of this morning, take it for what its worth but it usually snows more up in the riding areas.

Did anyone else notice the Polaris rig that has been parked there for 3 days? Wonder if they have 2013's in there...

Rentals are all booked? Wow! I bet they have atleast 40 rentals sitting at bear lodge. Sorry to hear about your luck, but do you think its time to ditch the noclimb and buy a pro? :face-icon-small-ton

Wow that does look like good snow! Surprises me, hope the north end is that good tomorrow! Did you ride powder river or behind deer haven?

Yeah Polaris is doing demo rides on the 13's this weekend up there, wish I wasn't working!

yesterday I'm not sure of the correct name it was the pull off about 2 miles from The Ski Lodge, we head north through the trees about 2 miles and it opened up, Today we went behind Deer Haven down P and D trails and found some pretty decent stuff as well, lots of guys were up there today though!

Got back from the Horns Yesterday, rode Thurs. and Fri. Just my son and I thurs. so we just jumped into Owens Creek and rode west to Fun Draw, Was decent snow, still need more on the good base, of course was pretty tracked up in this area, Fun Draw still had some good powder on it, Friday hooked up with some guys from Glendive, one sled ran into mech troubles so had to turn around and return to Bear, went out again, took south fork out of Owens Creek, was already quite a bit of traffic out there by then, went south toward Antelope. Figured the snow would be better south, woulda like to have unloaded at Antelope and rode southeast of Snoshoe.
Got enough new snow Fri. to ffill some tracks, gotta still watch out for those rocks, hopen' the next two months are good to the Horns as usual.
