2011/12 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

Was up at Bearlodge from Jan 14th -20th , conditions were not too bad but improved greatly after the snow on the 18th. The snow we received was heavy and wet at setup great for ridding in the trees etc. Earlier in the week all we found was sugar snow which made it difficult to get anywhere but our ride on Thursday was amazing!

Also want to give a shout out to our guide Lee who we hired for three days. We originally were only going for one guided trip but Lee was such a great guide and a great person to ride with we opt'd for an extra two days. Learned a lot from Lee and seen many areas we would have never gotten to without him. Also had the opertunity to ride with the Owner of the lodges Rick on our first day, also a great guy to ride with!

Well didnt make it up today, i bet it was good anybody have any reports? Got a couple pics from friday the 20th but i only seemed to take pics when i was stuck lmao! Also heard some sad news about the search and rescue having to go rescue someone today and the people i know that seem them said the guy didnt look good. Someone know what happened? Sorry to hear about this and prayers to whoever it was.

Was up monday, they definetly got some on sunday. Rode north of bear over toward garlan, cutler and found some good tree riding there. Trees are where it is at right now i think. Went down dry fork to check it out and there still isnt as much down there as other places. Think we found better snow friday. Planning on staying at some friends cabin at arrowhead this weekend. Its getting better after every little storm, we are getting there slowly but surely.

Windy. We are on our way home, rode yesterday and today.

Went south Wednesday, the wind screamed all day. You could still find a few patches of good snow tucked in pockets and along the tree lines but you had to look hard.

Went west today, actually was able to find a bit more snow. It kind of tried to snow, though it was windy again. Ended up taking a few pictures as the sun peeked out.

Lots of grass, dirt and rocks exposed due to the wind, kind of felt more like December riding. Hopefully it will settle down and just snow.

Nice stick!

How in the Hell did you get into that tree well, and did you have to cut that tree down to get out of that? That is a pretty impressive stick!
