We are heading to Crooked Creek and Togwotee area on the 10th. Has anyone been there in the last week or so. I know they have a lot of snow just wondering what the snow is like at this time. If they have had any new snow amounts.
The conditions out here are still great. The snow just keeps coming. Every time I think I'm going to have a time find good snow and then bam its like nobodys been out riding. I know they have been out here cause I see the trailers all over the place the tracks just keep getting filled in. If your headed up prepare for deep conditions and getting humbled by the terrain. I have been humbled over and over again.
Thanks for the report DJKinney it is great to hear from someone who is out there. We leave on the 10th and are about 1000 miles away. Have been waiting all year for this trip and I am so pumped I already can't sleep. I feel like a teenager again.
We are bringing two young riders out this year that have never been to the mountains. They are both really good riders and I just can't wait to watch the addiction set in once they ride in the mountains. I am seriously worried we will not be able to get the one rider to come back home.
Our group (Team 7220), just finished a 3 day ride 4-6th! Great snow for this time of year. We rode the Moccasin Basin area and east/west of Moccasin for 2 solid days (130 miles worth). The last day we rode the Brooks Lake Lodge area and had awesome snow everywhere. Granted the snow amount is great, the warmer weather has set in this year and it seems it has opened up the meandering creeks a little more than the past 5-10 years! Shouldn't be a problem for anyone as long as they watch for these open holes when crashing through the meadows. Should be great riding for you guys
Just got back tonight from Togwotee area!
If you did not go this weekend you missed some great snow!
Saturday was Fresh! Sunday Was simi clear skys, and Monday was to die for!
Here are some Pics!
No new yet, lots of tracks... if you know your way around you may find a few stashes of powder or get/ask a guide if you can. It's in the forecast but it keeps getting pushed back,
Eight of us coming out Wed - Sun. Looks like Togwotee was missed by this last storm. How are the conditions out there? Looks cold towards the end of the week.
Another good weather page to bookmark on NOAA, Togwotee's halfway down the page. This one is linked from the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center website and includes a number of other area weather stations. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/product.php?site=riw&product=SAG&issuedby=riw

Taken on 2/24. We had a good ride. Snowed all day and was able to find some really nice snow and some wildlife if you were willing to climb to about 11,000 ft.
