2010/11 Snow conditions Snowy Range

Snowies Friday November 12th

Here is a photo from Friday 11-12-10 in the Snowies, snow was marginal from gate on 130 until you dropped off from Libby Flats. Snow got better on west.
Just getting some time on new 2011 Sno Pro. Have to really watch out for land mines. No carnage but was really cautious. RickM

11/14/10

Me and B2 hit up the Snowies this morning again. Over the hood all day. Crazy amounts of new snow in the last few days but in most areas total accumulation is still only 48+ inches (on the West side, East side only 12-18 total in most areas. Lake Marie and West is getting the most out of this system.) Some of the best quality snow I've been in but we need it to sit on more of a base...

Riley where were at when you hit your a arm?
The snow looks good.. I think I have a group of guys going Thursday. I want to try to come in from Sand Lake. It's been a while since I have come that way. We will have a couple of new sleds and the trail into Sand Lake is a good break in road. Let me know if you need help getting a new A arm.

Haha! Avoid the areas where Riley rode! After the Pro A arm, he found a rock with my Nytro, but much less damage. Although there was 48" in spots, there is no base in a lot of the areas up there. Still need to be very careful! Had a blast with you Ry! Hope we can do it again soon.

ya and you guys are related:face-icon-small-dis

i agree thats some great snow for this early. wish i was there!!!!
Kyle, I heard you were thinking of getting a Pro! You won't regret it if you can! Also, if you are thinking of going riding, let me know. I would love to head back down to the snowies.

Riley & B2 - I was kidding about posting pics from last season. Keep the pics coming. wish I was there.
No worries! :face-icon-small-hap

Sorry bout the rock Bri, that Nytro is heavier that a Buick with skis, that thing could find Nicole Richie if she was burried in 10 feet of snow, but gosh darn was it fun!

Wow! They got pounded last weekend didn't they?

Yes and still getting pounded..
Weather is calling for another 14" by tomorrow night!!!
But it will be all gone by the weekend so no need to rush out ... I'd wait until late Feb. It should be good by then... I'll let ya know.

ton a snow no base

Just back from albany, went to help search, just as we were leaving plot they were found. Not going back to work, "lets ride". Dumpin like motha at times!!! First ones from 3way to 4way past savage run WOT all the way. 3-5 feet on the road, step off the sled and u are in chest deep snow and your feet are in the dirt. Keeper spinin til u see dirtntrees flying, the're all dead any way. Snow is deep but no base, good combo for damage.

SnoTel says 58" North French...going in this weekend to see for myself. Looks like snow most of next week. Could be great for Thanksgiving weekend.

Hey guys, me and Ed Fast are headed your way saturday. Is it supposed to keep snowing into sat and sun or will it let up? Also what kind of temps are you lookin at the next few days? Is the snow gonna settle and set up at all or not. We're lookin at mid 50's today and mid 40's tomorrow here in Gillette. Thanks.
Sonny

Showing that the Maximum temp over the last few days didn't get above 25 F but if the sun came out it would surely settle it a bit, which is good news for the base conditions. Supposed to be partly cloudy through the weekend with snow on Sunday. dcturbo was going up today, I would watch for an actual snow conditon report.
