2010/11 Snow conditions Snowy Range

If you guys don't mind I would like to tell you about the SNOW CONDITIONS IN THE SNOWY RANGE!!!!
We went today to get some more miles on the Pro's and keep playing with the clutching. We parked at chains end on the west side the road is now covered and you can fly up and down the trail now.
We ended up playing in tons of meadows and in and out of the trees all day
I ended up with 50 miles today.
The creeks are still open in spots and the lakes are just starting to ice over. If you haul azz over the lakes your fine.:face-icon-small-hap

Snow depth varies on where you are. West side meadows and trees I would say is around 24-34" As you travel east towards Lake Maria the snow level drops to 12-20"
You still need to pick your way through from time to time. The trails on the west side and now packed down by tracks and are a blast to rip down.

It was snowing lightly on us most of the day. Around 3 the snow was coming in a little harder and looked to be setting in.
The snow is fair to good, and its still early November! So if you got the itch to get some miles in you can.. I would highly recommend that you go to the west side.

Cheers!!

snow in the snowies

As of 11/12/10 there is about 6 inches at medicine Bow Lodge on the west side of the snowies. Be careful there is several feet up top not enough base to do much off trail. The Web cam at Medicine Bow Lodge is working and shows the snow at 8000.

Several feet? I know the Snowest server was slow but I thought they fixed that. Surely this post is from last year. To me "several" is 6 maybe 7 plus...FEET? There is 24-36 inches in spots. Spot on with the no base though, it's early.

Went up on a shakedown ride this morning, unloaded at St Albins chapel. Nothing above Brookyln so I went to Lake Marie. Snow started to get kinda good past Marie.

I just went to my Local Yamaha dealership to buy my snowmobile stickers, and the guy said that there is about a little over two feet in most places and close to three feet in some places. Im not sure if the east side of the mountain,or west side of the mountain has more snow, but I will find out tomorrow. :)

Really???? Read my post from Thursday night

11/13/10...Another great early season ride. Measured 48 inches on my probe about 11 o'clock. 130 over the top is sketchy until you reach Bellemy Lake, solid cover from there on out to an undisclosed location. Dave, I appreciate the invite, but I am going to have to decline! Let me know how Jackson is when you get back!

That pic isn't from last year...I was there! Found some pretty unreal pockets of snow for this time of the year.

ya and you guys are related:face-icon-small-dis

Kyle, have you forgot that we are as well? HAHA man it was a blast, get down here and put some miles on the Pro, they just get up on top of the snow and keep pulling. Snow conditions were phenominal. Working uphill you could go anywhere you wanted in the trees, had to be a bit careful going downhill however...
