2010/11 Snow conditions Snowy Range

Congrats, you are the first this year to piss and moan about this. Himark, perhaps we need to create a sticky for those that ride the snowies to bs about stuff (w/o creating a bunch of threads) other than snow conditions.

Focus people!!!
Lets get back to "Snow Conditions."

MEWMY1, thanks for pointing out that im a big shooter!!!! That made my day. And you are right, I do own frech creek. I can go any where I want to down there. Frech creek is a fun place for me with a fresh dump of snow or on a nice spring day. I would be happy to take you down in there and show you around :) is it ok if i bring the ultra?

Take Tog first:)

That settles it, we all get to ride French Creek on a nice spring day. Skiwhiz can crackle and laugh all the way down. :llama:

That ultra runs!!! it turns 9,500 RPM all day long. Its has the SLP mod set up!
NO BOG!
I would love to come on the FC day trip. but some guys might want to get there over night reservation set now. It might book up fast :)

I just knew there had to be a hot tub in FC and the pic proves it. All those survival stories, yeah, right. :face-icon-small-win

Earlier today Snotel was showing 25" base in FC, with 10 of that falling over the last 24hrs.

Do You think id be all right to take my new M8 to the saratoga side of the snowies to get some break in miles on it, or should i wait till there is more snow? And does any one know how much snow there is as of now?

I followed SkiWiz into French creek and back out. The back out was a cake walk compared to how he took us in.:face-icon-small-con I didnt realize you can side hill a cliff for 40 yards... most of us made it but a couple came to rest into the trees. I think we need to sit with Tog's gal if she will share the popcorn and watch the Ultra follow skiwiz and conditions wont matter. Dan be careful with the wiz and bring a come-a-long and a long rope. Parker I would wait one more week, looks like another good push early next week will bring a good dump with some colder temps as well.

24 inches in the Snowies up French Creek as we speak. 17 degrees up there and snow in the forecast for the rest of the week. Snowing in town (Laramie) right now so they should be getting a little something up there. The road was plowed after the last dump, they won't plow it after this fresh 10 we just had so it should be drifted in pretty well right now, for sure by the weekend. Anybody not in the immediate area can look at the French Creek sensor on snotel to get up to hour information on storms coming through and what is accumulating.

Skiwiz can follow me down the ice water fall and I will let him lead from there.
Its funny, I dont even know skiwiz but it sounds like he likes to get stuck! My kinda rider.
I can show you guys right where the hot tub is. It comes stocked with coors light too.

There is some on the west side, the last that fell is really light and fluffy. Some factory guys pulled in today for testing, lets just say they called back for more carbides. From chains end up to Silver Lake you can ride but it's damn thin.
Riley, it snowed more down in Laramie than it did up here, hopefully we'll get more tonight and through the weekend.

Dan, What factory guys showed up? what side are they?
I am heading down to play with some more clutching.

And why don't you boys start a sticky thread on Motel French Creek!
I love all the heckling and I will continue on reading how every year more and more join the club. But I think this thread is titled "Snow conditions Snowy Range"

Did red get some miles on the new sled? or did you?
dc

Dave, it's the Y guys, they're hoping to do some endurance testing & tweaking for factory approved accessories. They're riding out of SML.
Red's sled is still sitting in the shed, seriously it needs to snow quite a bit more before we give it the shake down tour.

I like riding down in French creek. Many guys dont like going down there but realy theres only one spot that can get a guy in trouble. Thats going down off the water fall and then the next 100 yards after that. If any one wants me to take them down into French creek I will be happy to show them around.
I took a 1996 polaris ultra all the way down in there last year. I have some cool video of it climbing out of the creek just south of the water fall.
Heres some pics from last year if you want to check them out.
