2010/11 Snow conditions Snowy Range

It was snowing like a beotch on the backside when we came down 'bout 2:30 this afternoon. Weather man says 7 to 11 inches by tommorow pm. The last few days have been sunny with a boatload of sleds running around. We found good snow, just had to hunt a little harder.

It quit snowing over here in Albany. Lots of sleds out today still found good snow in the creeks. Tried to go up to my snowtel hotel but it was to deep to climb up and out so we had to turn around.

From this weekend

Still snowing hard when we left at noon.

Friday - Saturday OK. Sunday couple feet of fresh in spots (didn't head up top or back on Sunday), found some great snow. Frech Creek was open but didn't make it all the way up via creek line...where the hell was skiwiz.

Hey BDADDY and jpete27, what route do you guys take out? We took 29 to 80 and out, it was long but we thought they would be better roads.

Saw him in the bear tree sat night.

I forgot...what is it you were going to ask him about?:face-icon-small-hap I thought XtraParts were only on that "other" brand.

Ha ha. At least we figured out where it goes. And it seemed to run pretty damn good without it. Lol. But I better put it back in.:face-icon-small-sho

Thinking about heading to the Snowies this weekend. Will there be some fresh left, or are we better off going to Buff Pass?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It snowed 'bout 3 to 4" last night at Greenrock, problem is it's blowing just shy of mach jeezus. I'm sure there was more on the west, looking at the maps we have some moisture coming in from the NW Fri & Sat. Best I can do for now, good luck.

need a little help. i been out to the snowies for 4 years in a row. problem: ive always just been in the pack. now im going out with a diff group and need a little help locating some good spots. 7 fools, widow maker, rollercoaster etc, etc, etc.... does anyone have lat and long postions or another good point of ref??
any help is app.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you don't know where 7 Fools is, you shouldn't be poking around in there. If you try to go in or out the wrong way, it will be a long night. If you still want lats and longs I can give you my snowtel motel address in the North French Creek district of 7 Fools.

No offense taken. Just looking for insight so we don't have to burn up hrs looking and gettin in trouble.
Thanks!

Here is a link to the google map for the Snowy Mountains Landmarks: Snowy landmarks

To find the location of a particular landmark, click it's name in the left colum.
This will center the map on that landmarks pin. Then you click the pin and it opens a box with the name and options. Click "directions" and the Lat & Lon will come up in a box above the left hand colum were the names are.

Also, click the "more" tab at the top of the map and select "terrain" Now when you zoom in, you can see the elevation of the area.
I hope this helps...

Snowies

If you are a half way decent rider and now how to go in and out of 7 fools you will be fine. Its an alright area but there are many areas just like it.
