2010/11 Snow conditions Snowy Range

My riding buddy blew his back out and cant go this weekend, so I'm looking for someone to ride with. I'll be getting a hotel in Laramie if someone wants to split cost. I'm coming from Denver and can pick someone up on the way. Let me know! Jeff 651-967-2204

I don't do trails.

We're staying at the Ten Mile Inn, and hopefully I'll see you out there. I'll be on SnoWest throughout the trip!

We're riding: 2010 Ski-Doo XP, 2010 RMK Dragon, 2010 RMK, 2009 RMK, 2004 RMK..

LOOK FOR US! :face-icon-small-ton

Ah, you are running around the west side, we are staying in Albany.

We stayed at Winter Creek Cabins last year, this year they are booked so we decided to try Albany.

Alrighty! I'm riding with a bunch of 50+ year old guys...I'm 19 :face-icon-small-ton

Should be interesting. Keep in touch, and maybe we'll see each other out on the mountain.

Backcountry Avalanche Forecast for Front Range

Issued: 01/07/2011 7:03 AM by John Snook

Highlights
Mild temperatures are helping the snowpack, but gusty northwest winds remain problematic. Wind slabs will be easy to trigger in alpine areas that face the east side of the compass. Deep releases remain hard to trigger, but could have devastating consequences.

Avalanche Danger
The avalanche danger for the Front Range zone is MODERATE (Level 2) with pockets of CONSIDERABLE (Level 3) on NE-E-SE-S aspects above treeline. Shallow, human-triggered slides are likely in recently wind-drifted areas. The danger is MODERATE (Level 2) on N-NW-W-SW aspects above treeline, all aspects near treeline, and N-NE-E-SE-S aspects below treeline. The danger is LOW on SW-W-NW aspects below treeline

ON A SIDE NOTE... sorry I could not post during the Holidays when I was up there, but the folks at WinterCreek would not let me use their wireless.

On December 24th the WIDOWMAKER DID SLIDE. I will try to post a photo shortly

anybody that rides the snowy range know a guy from Iowa named Leroy?

He's in his 70's and used to ride the snowies a lot. just wondering if he still rides out there, because I rode with him 2 years ago.

Very nice man, and he used to ride a 2007 700 Dragon. in 2008-9 anyways.
