2009 XP first ride 10/11/08--good --bad-- and the ugly

Doo does make a 20 tooth. Tell your dealer to look harder. If they look in the '09 technical update book it shows that they can still warranty regearing on summits. And you have the option of a 19 or 20 tooth top gear.
 
T/A, havent seen in this thread if you still have stock gears, but in all the XP's we tested in 08 (about 12) the ones re-geared 20 were never out run by the ones geared 19. Better track speed in climbing and the deep, and better all around speed with the 20!

Any reports for the 163's?
 
TA you said you put the 09 ramps and helix in the 08 what about the springs or are they the same ????? and you said use the 08 pins right?????
 
Rode Golden for two days(Nov 16 & 17) on my 09 Summit X 163...the dual angle helix is the fix for these machines. Awsome midrange torque, absolutely rock solid 8200 all day long. No casualties with rocks...just lots of fresh snow. Need more to fill in the creek.

What elevation, stock or slp piped, pin weight, set screws, clicker position? We dont even have enough to ride on yet :mad:

springs are suppose to be the same according to dealer--yes on the 08 hollow pins in the 09's
 
Forgive me if I am wrong here, but if I remember right there were some issues in '07 and '08 with crappy tower bushings and rollers. Has anybody had their clutches apart after a couple rides to see how these parts are holding up this year?

Still can't decide between a RMK or XP, just trying to gather all the info I can before I buy next year(leftover '09).

My '08 163" XPX had a 160/320 primary spring in it and I thought the '09s were the same until tonight. I had 2 '09 163" XPXs apart and they come with a 200/320 primary springs. I don't know if the 154s are different, but they should be the same. I've got two rides on mine and it seems to be great! Had the clutch apart 5 times and all the parts look good.

the secondary is a black /purple/purple for the 09--havent had the 08 apart in so long i forgot what it was
 
not to impressed with my 09 so far, my 07 i'm pretty sure would walk all over this thing.
it won't pop the skis off the ground, to skip over creeks, sucks had to nose dive into all of them, limiter strap its all the way out.
clicker 6 at 7400ft, to get 8200, seemed to hold it though, all clutching is stock, ordered a 20 tooth top gear, trying one thing at a time.
Rear suspention is sure saggy
Rode w/ a M1000, D7, And a few 06 800X, my XP was almost struggling to keep it. (it wasn't but seemed like it)

Rode golden go a rock, lower left arm.

i know my 07 would almost go right up and over back wards just about, while ripping my arms off.

i'm also running the SLP Pipe combo, all stock Clutching (for now i'll be workin on that), waiting for a 20 t top.
