2009 XP first ride 10/11/08--good --bad-- and the ugly

nice, getting some more riding in!

go figure, who'd a thunk Rotax/BRP (or whoever does their pipes) is able to make a good, working pipe, w/o any dinking around (rejetting)! they've only had that down for the last 20+ years? ;)

out of curiosity, is your stocker setup 'coated'?

it is coated and the sled is all stock--we are dooing a head on Dons sled

Sorry about that...my bad. I just looked up your old post about slp and saw the 18 hp was mid range with a slp head too. Oops! Does the pipe seem to be worth it at elevation?

havent got it right yet but so far it pulls harder on bottom and about the same a stock on top but only runnin 7800 ---ck jetting today

I have my 09 with that pipe kit installed just waiting for snow. Im watching this thread like every hour.LOL Yes it’s addicting!!

Just a suggestion. Home Depot carries a bore scope by Rigid for like 199. It will not fit in the hole but it gives a very clear reading "in color" of the wash. The XP is a pain in the a## to read.

Keith

PS. Glad to see you going down on the MJ. The pipe just might have more pulse on the carbs causing extra fuel. 460's might be the number????

Hows the mid range fueling feel so far.

So how did the 18 HP SLP pipe work?

Now that would be nice!

SLP claims 5hp peak. I'm just going to assume that the dyno numbers are corrected for sea level. So if your riding 10k I would guess it will be slighty less. But who knows......

Thanks again T/A for the R&D on the pipe kit.

At 10k you might see 2hp but the midrange jump in power will probably be worth it by itself. Good boondocking pipe.

Snap on dealer just delivered the new bore scope and as suspected its plent rich---droping to 490's for the next test , might be a couple weeks , got to go visit the grandkids:o:D

didn't ride on Bald--only rode down by the Dayton gulch road on the south side of the road===ARE you the official big horn cop ??????????????????????
We roda no more than 50 feet off the road:eek:

No, I'm just saying lots of people are still driving over top and it would be very bad for all of us sledder if people were riding where they are not supposed to be. So pull your undies out and I'm soooo sorry if I offended the sledding god by saying I thought I saw him doing something stupid.:rolleyes:

i spend 10 months of the year on the big horns and i know what the rules are and abide by them---i dont care if you jerk somebodys chain that is out of line but when you get on a public forum and point fingers make sure you right :mad:--i dont appreciate gettin chewed out for something i didnt doo--the end:D

coming to God's Counrty

I'm heading your way in Jan. with a group of 24 folks who have always wanted to ride in your area. thanks for the update and pic's....

How did the new intake foam and pre-filter hold up? I have heard some speculation as to whether it would stay in place and seel well.

I just saw the Snap on video borescope and it is BAD A$$, I got him talked down to $315.

What did you pay for yours?

Staying in place isn't an issue but sealing may be. The front part under the hood isn't real tight to the plastic. A strip of velcro in this area will not only seal better but also add a little security from the filter popping out when when laying it over in the POW.

ditto

Great info, glad to hear the 09's are working so well out of the box.
I know a lot of guys up here that will be thrilled with the improvements.
Thanks for sharing.
