2009 XP first ride 10/11/08--good --bad-- and the ugly

i agree with the snow load--last year we had a buddy with a head on his xp and racing it didnt help it at all but when we got to some good deep snow it made a heck of a difference..i think the pipe will be the same ..:D
NOS is the same deal on the flats with no load it doesn't seem to make a big diff, however in the deep and under load the added HP then reveals it advantage. Besides the helix on your 09 whats the difference between the 09 and the 08 considering 08 has been updated??

ramps have been changed along with the helix --so far so good--changing the pin weight for saturday :D

Let me know how the set up works.........I'm more then pleased with my set up now , however if there's more to gain with with the ramps,pins and helix I'm all for it.......:beer;

how did the slp pipe and can sound compared to a stock pipe and hps or super q can?
louder, quieter, higher pitched?

thank you

slp set up is louder than stock and sound throaty:D but similar to HPS can on the 08--the super q is a tick louder than both HPS can and SLP set---when we get it tuned properly i am going to try thr HPS and Super Q on the SLP pipe to ck the sound and performance---

We've found on almost all SLP setups that only their cans seems to work on their pipes... Weird, but it's shown to be true. Let us know what you find. Luck bastage getting to ride already. BAH! :D

I have a super q from last year. I rode with a buddy that had the hps. I personally thought the super q sounded just a touch better. Both of them seemed to perform the same.
I just got the slp full system yesturday. I was just worried because usually slp canisters seem to be a bit on the quite side.
I don't like obnoxiously loud like a rev with a rumble pack on it, but I don't want to to be too quite. I like my super q. think it is just right.

Just a curious question. What is the inside diameter of the outlet on your super Q canister for the xp?

thank you
jeremy

Looks like elk season up there will be fun yet again...

And what's the deal Darrell? Don't you guys always manage to nail a rock, fence, etc, on the first ride? Just givin' ya some chit... looks like you had fun!

How many hours did you have on the 09? I'm guessing "first ride" was exactly that. Good news, don't judge the 09 to quickly. If it pulled equal to the 08 then it will kick it's butt after a few hours. The timeing won't advance on the 09 until AFTER 3 houre ABOVE 3000rpm. Not just 3 hours running time. Sounds great though, can't waite!!!:D

I don't think there are any roads within a mile of Bald.

didnt ride on Bald--only rode down by the Dayton gulch road on the south side of the road===ARE you the official big horn cop ??????????????????????
We roda no more than 50 feet off the road:eek:

your allowed 300 feet of any marked and Numbered forest road !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

T/A just a little something i read. you can not be buzzing around off road unless its for camping firewood or loading up your big game. how ever i have been doing it myself for years.( 300' thing) thinking it was ok but i seen the rules on it last summer at woodchuck pass posted on the atv trail.so you are probably ok doing what you have been but one of these days your going to run into the pissed at the world usfs cop and who knows what he will do.

talked to the forest service early last year and they made sure we knew about the 300' rule before we left the parking lot:confused::confused:

So how did the 18 HP SLP pipe work?

the 18 hp ??????????????/// slp says 5 hp top end and 10 mid--think i've got to jet back down a little still not getting the rpms in clicker 3 or 4 i would like to see and by cking the plugs looks rich compared to the stock 09--dooing a piston wash ck tomorrow --we ran right next to the road and loaded it after 6 hard pulls in a row:confused:

nice, getting some more riding in!

go figure, who'd a thunk Rotax/BRP (or whoever does their pipes) is able to make a good, working pipe, w/o any dinking around (rejetting)! they've only had that down for the last 20+ years? ;)

out of curiosity, is your stocker setup 'coated'?
