2009 XP first ride 10/11/08--good --bad-- and the ugly

ta are seeing any of the probs that turbo al is seeing. he stated 60km track speed. doing cluch work and saying doubling the track speed?

well not that familiar with doos break in period. No BS about this, something serios with these machines. is it just these or has anyone else heard of this.DPM is old and should have all the bugs out. What did they change

Don't know what their symptoms were, but I had what seemed to be dpm/carboration issues with my '09 XP this weekend. It would load up so much at low RPM that it would barely idle. At times after I shut it off it would not want to start and I would have to hold it full throttle to get it to start. It ran great on the top end, this was just an issue at low RPM/idle. I have not consulted my dealer yet.

are your carb heaters off

Joe, my 08 did the same thing last weekend when we were headed back to the truck(right before we were racing the hill) it came out of it, but wouldn't run above 1200rpm. not sure what the cause was, but it seemed to work fine the rest of the day

double the track speed--THATS OVER 70 MILES PER hour---VERY doubtful on that in powder --maybe hard pack but not powder---so far we like the set up , i'm sure there is room for improvement--

150 posts and the only thing to be concluded is the 09's work about as good as a 1972 KittyKat. no RPM's, low RPM's, vary RPM's, loading up, wont start, recoil broken.........

There's always 2010, maybe, just maybe BRP can figure it out by then LOL

fixed it for ya, Darko:eek::D

sleds running good now after ecm fix

So far I think the 09 set up is going to work
the 163 must have a lower gear ratio than the 154
I am running slp pipe, Y pipe, can, and 8-10 head
9-10 feet jetted at 480 no air box have my own cold air intake on currently
short threaded pins clicker 4
Found a good hill to make runs on yesterday
pulling a strong 8100 all the way am going to need about 100-200 more in deep snow dont like the way it runs in clicker 5-6 so i think I will pull a little more pin weight before I go again. If that dont work I will have a 20 tooth gear to try. Sled has a full vent kit and is not bulding much clutch heat.
110 miles on

My 09 154x was pulling 7900-8000 on climbs at 7300 feet on clicker 3. Had great pull but I didn't check the track speed on climbs. My buddy's 146 everest was pulling 8200, clickers also on 3, and seemed faster up the hills but mine seemed to stretch the arms a bit more. Both sleds at about 3hrs and 100km so far, everything stock. 1.5 to 2 feet of settled powder. Clutches were cool enough to touch but the pipe gave off a pile of heat.
