It all comes down to the Miner's, if we could stop the miners from mining materials that can be used to make dangerous things like guns, bullets, knives, snowmobiles, cars, bikes, etc... the world would be a much safer place.:D
ROFLMAO but seriously No No No, you see if that were the case someone would make a video about mining and everyone would go out and copy the video and get hurt or killed by the equipment or caveins. Then we would have to make threads to protect ourselfs from the deadly mining techniques...

I think Mod03 hit it just perfect.... "Common Sense" If more people had it and even more people used it we wouldnt have to protect each other from ourselves!! Take care of yourself and dont worry what other people are doing. If people are doing something you dont like or that you dont think is safe then the best solution is to>>>>>>>>>>>> LET THEM DO IT!! But get the he(( away as fast as common sense allows!!
However along with that I will say that when people do stupid things then they cant scream for help when things go sour on them.. You got yourself in the situation!! "Your failure to plan ahead does not constitute an emergency on my part!"

I remember the thread a few years back about what qualified someone to be a "professioinal" rider. There are very few professional sledders in this world. Very few.

"SPONSORED" sledders are different, right?

Haha YUP, Blair Morgan, Tukker, Martin, Malinoski etc are "Pro" riders, riding in Pro class, at the highest level. I've never seen, heard or thought of any "freerider" in the mountains as a Professional. Self proclaimed, shiot Shirley there a dime a dozen on this site. LOL

Lots of great, good, decent etc riders in the hills, but professional...... NOT.

So Disco Danny ..................

Now for the real issue at hand, warnings are put at the beginning of the video telling that is professionals, not newbies, riding and climbing the sleds. So if a newbie seriously thinks he/she can just watch a video and copy it, so be it. But, I seriously doubt, that a "NEWBIE" will watch a film and do just that. Posted by Disco Dan Richter

Yer callin yerself a "Professional" right??????

hehe...............

Snicker, Snicker .......................

RothfLmao .....................

HAHAHAHAHHA.......................................

LOL LOL LOL LOL ..................................

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA ..........

OMFG !!! HAHAHAHAHA .........

ouch ... I think I just busted my gut open ........................... hehehehe :D

Calling All Newbies:

Do not do what TS6 guys do in the video. Please ride 1 at a time on the hill and sit on high ground while you defog your NMFH if your newbie pal is marking..........

Problem Solved. EW

Yes Thunderstruck is dangerous, so are most of the others. I do think that even though they push it to the extreme they should try to follow good sledding safety rules but they dont. Its like wadekboarding videos, they never wear life jackets, how stupid is that. Oh well, stupid is as stupid does, whatever that means....

This is the dumbest thread ever I feel even stupider for responding to it but it is a little bit my fault so here goes ,
the reason I climb with someone eles first off there are only 2 or 3 guys I would risk my life with, for a simple fact I trust them with my life. I do it only on days when I havent seen a slide all day Its usually at the end of the day when climb all by your self gets lonely , Yes the risk goes up but so does the addernaline and for me thats what it is about so the last climb of the day has to be the biggest shot of addernaline to last till tomarrow or when I get to ride agin. if you think its stupid your right but sure is a kick. If you dont like it and you ride with me then you better let me know because you never know when I go around ya. he he he

sucka

If you want to climb 2 at a time with your group more power to ya.
It would be nice if you could let the people already at the hill when you get there, decide if they want you going up the hill while they are on it.

It s a free country so do as you wish thats why you ride with your people, and I ride with mine.

OK, I will regress for you Slim. We are not professionals, we are merely novices who have a lot of money to burn, and pay someone to put us in a film, cause we want to be seen as professionals. None of us care about you! Just about ourselves, that is why we do it Slim. We dont give a chit about dummy's like you! That is why we, go to avy courses, preach about avy safety, always matnion, do not do what we do, never ask other vovices like ourselves to follow us, never help out a unknown fellow sledder stuck in a meadow, none of us go to church cause we dont beleive...................man I could go on ramblin, but I doubt you have the mentality the get the picture so here it is for you Slim, I do not consider myself a professional, but I do consider the likes of davidoff, Stainer, Story etc.... profesional in their own rights, as well as a chitload of others, even on here. THey do stuff that I cannot, nor will not do. That being said, I never stated anywhere that I myself, was a pro. YOU DID! I merely was saying what the warning at the beginning of the fil says for a warning. Would you rather see it say................."Warning, these are snowest forum sheep riding in this film, please copy everything they do, cause they are not professionals and dont know or care about you and your saftey."

There Slim, that better for you.

P.S. Didnt you star in alticity a few times, and consider yourself still a part of them?
MAn you are now a pro in your own words smartypants!

Dum, da da dum, dummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

all i'm saying is, 2 ppl going up a hill definitely looks much easier than dropping a huge cliff, or doing back flips. You don't find smaller backflips to do to be able to pull off the back flip or even the huge cornice drop. What CAN be misconveyed is 2 newbies find a small hill to climb that they do feel comfortable on, and the next thing you know we have a statistic.

I could really give a sh!t less if 2 more idiots die due to darwin. What i was trying to do is open some eyes to the fact that there are much less skilled riders out there, and don't heed the warning of the more skilled riders.

stupid does, what stupid sees - especially if they feel they can make that little challenge more in their skill level.

newb = 2 ppl on small hill

"professional" = 2 ppl on bigger hill. <----- that's what they see.

i guess i will have to talk to chris at clayton from slednecks and tell them they need put up a header on each one of the crazy jumps that they do on their films that says do not try this huge jump. you might not live. how stupid is that. maybe just as dumb as arguing with fordman and graveler on here.

Exactly! Now I want my 10 min. back for reading all these posts! ;)

I think what Slim was trying to say is that all of these "professionals" are self claimed. I am not a pro rider, and who's to say what a pro rider is? There is no way to stop Joe Blow from bying a new XP. A dealer cannot force someone to buy a 550 fan. There is no real training course except for real world riding. There is a fine line between idiocy and greatness and far too many times people in these videos cross that line. The mountains are very inviting, but very dangerous especially with the current snow conditions. All I can say is Newbies to the mountains should deffinately ride with someone with knowledge of the area and its tendencies to slide.
