Who thinks flatlanders cant ride

Anyways I found this thread most enjoyable so I thought I would say...

I am proud that, I , a 16 year old owns 1968 Chevy truck ($2000) and my own  2006 700 RMK  ($4000). I paid for them completely and entirely by myself in which makes me quite proud. Thus saying all this I am not ashamed in saying I... suck. I get stuck in front of my own house let alone boondocking. But at least I can say I spend a hell of allot less to go sledding then all you guys do and I still have fun. It doesn't matter ware you are, if there’s snow (how ever little of it there might be), and you have a sled, (how ever little it may be) and you have a riding buddy, how could you not have fun? Flatlander or Mountain rider.

If anything you can just spin doughnuts in a parking lot or something? I take that back, screw flatlanders, mountains are ware the funs at!
That's some refreshing attitude there....sledding's all about fun to me, all this other stuff is just a bunch of BS. I'd rather go whip donuts in front of the cabin than have some dick measuring contest with some retard I met on the internet.

im a flatlander and i get to the mts once a year and i will admit there are two totaly different rideing styles out here on the flats not many trees to doge and dotn roll over to much but we have to dodge thoes pesky fences and those darn colverts and a few telephone poles and maybe a backwards drift if your not rideing the right way in a ditch. I will never say i am a good mt rider but i am a good flatlander hahahahha well theres my 02

Now heres a Young man who has earned his toys and is proud regardless of their monetary worth. He values them highly as his own because he worked for them.
Good for you. You got your head on straight.

On the other hand, I have never ridden in the "Flatlands" so I'm pretty sure there are a few things I could learn about....ditches, or curbs, or whatever dangers abound in the flats but I'm sure I could probably ride just fine there.

now that i think is funny as hel, you do have to watch out for them darn culverts and hidden cursable item lying in the ditchs! great thread

lol at this thread. it doesn't matter where your'e from, some are just more talented than others.my brother and i have been riding the mountains for the last 7 or 8 years...and he can outride me and most all in our group.he rode awesome even the first year we were out.i can remember plenty of times where there were 20-30 people sitting at the bottom, just amazed at what he could do...(they coulda all been flatlanders lol.)the town where i grew up had 2 pro snowboarders come out of it and we are in farm central.go figure.for most of us flatlanders its a little tougher since when we travel 1000-2000 miles to totaly different terrain we are not really in our comfort zone. jmo

The main thing to remember, whether you are concidered a flatlander or a mountain rider is that we all are very passionate about our chosen sport. It's very expensive and we ride what we feel we can afford. We all have a blast regardless of where we ride.

Flatlander?, Mountain rider? We're sledders:face-icon-small-hap
That's what makes us all alike.
Many of us have some real differences but the similarities that we all share are sleds and snow.
Kind of one big huge extended family!

All families have that one wierd cousin nobody wants to claim:rolleyes:

Merry Christmas to all my sledding brothers and sisters :present::beer;:wine::heart:

nope 18. but close. and its my own sled. both of 'em and the truck. that's all I gotta say!!! If you are goin to revy this year let me know when. Should be there in april. We can ride together. and when your rev breaks you can ride my backup sled!!!

I was at Action Motorsports in Steamboat a couple of years ago and they told me about a guy up by Steamboat Lake who bought his "punk kid" an Apex, then had them install a turbo because "Jr" wanted to go faster. Anything the kid wants the kid gets. (They also said the kid was scared spitless of the sled with the turbo) This may not have anything to do with turbowood, I don't know.

Hey BB,

Sounds like a great opportunity to ride with some bad azz riders. You should go! I had an opportunity to ride with Chris Burandt up at RE last year (loose invite!). I declined. It would have been great to ride with him, but I didn't think he enjoy waiting for me!!!! And I wasn't sure I wanted to go where he was going. Phatty and guys--talking about the Alpine area-- I rode there last year with some guys from Washington and some locals-Delber? There is some extreme riding there. I was a spectator for sure!!!! They sure could ride.

As far as BB and his toys. Ya, he is only 18 and has a lot of stuff that may or may not of been given to him. He could be from a farming family. Neb-corn-e85. There is a resurgance in corn these days! I went to school with a kid that worked on the family dairy farm. This was in the late 80's. He could make 15k in a summer!!!!!!!!!! His sophomore year he drove a cherry '69 Camaro RS convertable. In college I went to school with a guy from ND that also lived and worked on the family farm. He owned a 60k+ tractor. So it is very possible that BB has been able to do this with his own nickle.

BTW, I have an '03 1m 900 151x16 with some tweeks. I ride in the Colo mtn's and the Snowies some and I can't ride for sh!t. Have fun though!:)

i will admit that i'm not as skilled of a rider as mountain guys but for me its hard to keep up my rdiing skills when i can't afford to go out west every year and the trails around me are only open a couple weeks a year at most. plus im in college so not a very good income during the snow season.

I have been riding strictly mountains since my first sled in '88 (I'll save you the math, that's at least a full year before you were born) and I would not be so bold as to spout off about how awesome I ride because I will always have a great deal to learn about mountain riding.

Let your riding speak for itself if the recognition is so important to you.
You come across as a punk when you have to brag about yourself.
Have fun in Revy. I have mountains within a 45 minute drive from my home.

BTW, Look up the old story of the two bulls standing on the hill over the herd of cows in the valley below.
One is older and very wise and the other is very young and....well, dumb.
You figure it out.

Well put!! Always like the one about the old bull. ha

Hey BOOSTBONER, not to stir the pot or anything... but,

you_suck.jpg

That's alot of fingers....... That may even be more fingers than Jenna Jameson got througout her career!

To be honest with all you guys, I seen people from the moutains do things i never seen before on a sled. for example i have a 07 m8 and im not a great rider at all means, but i seen someone hop on my sled and take it to places i never dreamed of trying to attempt. I also seen flatlanders do the same. but if your from the mountains, sure, you can ride there, its the experience you have out there and thats what lil boner boy dont realize yet. He may think hes great but then why isnt he on the videos doing all the crazy hill climbs and stunts we all love to watch????? umm umm whats that boner boy, you still on the nipple? i just want to see him go up against a mountain rider and we all can sit back and watch and enjoy that turbo roll down the hill in 1000's of pieces

have fun picking that up!

I think you and a lot of others are secretly dealing with the affliction known as " TURBO ENVY " and its an ugly thing to watch.

We've all seen many cases here on SnoWest. Hope you can get some help.

LMFAO!!! Ahh man, Boner you crack me up!!!! Phatty, I may just have to come out and hook up with you so my non-boosted 2 stroke can get worked;) Another all time best thread her on SnoWest:) I can't believe we don't have to pay for this type of entertainment!!!
