Who thinks flatlanders cant ride

I'm not going to say ALL flat landers can't ride in the mountains, but I would say most cannot ride as well.

I am sure there are a some out there that can ride pretty damn good.

BTw... stupid thread, I can't believe I actually replied.

wow that was a lot of reading. hey look something shiny...

bawhahahahahaha thats the funniest thing i have read in a long, long time!!!

boostwoodie,
Why cant you stay a day in alpine and ride on the 27th? They are getting pounded with snow and its not supposed to stop till next week. Its not like you cant afford a hotel room... we aint gonna hurt ya, we just want to go riding!!!

This thread is fuggin' retarted without pics.

"the biggest cliff I dropped was 30 ft" - Bullsh!t!!!!! $100,000+ in toys and you don't own a camera BoostBoner? Yeah.....whatever! If guys I ride with drop a 10 ft cliff we take a photo.....

You think you are a good rider? YOU KNOW NOTHING!!! You're 18 with a fancy sled.

My old man has been riding for over 30 yrs, last year (on a 600) he outrode a group of 4 of us 25-30 yr olds on 800's. I grew up in southeast BC riding the mountains all my life, I can give you names and #'s if you want to call ppl to verify I'm not a half bad rider myself, (95% of which I learned from him) and he still amazes me at the young age of 57.

He's not rich, he doesn't have a fancy sled, but he can flat-out ride and he has seen more miles on the seat of a snowmobile than most of the people on this forum. So you can take your age, your money, your fancy sled and your attitude and cram it. My dad used to outride ppl with 700-800 class sleds on a little 440 mod. Not talking straight line climbing where no skill is involved, but boondocking, sidehilling and very technical riding, he showed us all up. They used to get up a 4 am to go riding their air cooled 1976 TnT's in the mountains before it got too hot in the spring and the sleds vapour locked and the snow was hard before it turned to slush. He's been stuck in crazy spots more than you've ever dreamed. So before you run your mouth about how good you think you are, stop, and then don't say anything.

Anyone on here bullsh!tting about how good they are better be able to back it up with pics, vids or SHOW UP IN REAL LIFE WHEN SOMEONE CALLS YOU OUT!!!!!! to prove your abilities. No Excuses. Otherwise, you are just a poser.
There's tons of hero snow in Revy in April....anyone feel like being a hero?

p.s. - here are some pics.

p.p.s - If you can't back it up, then you better STFU!

I'm not bragging. Nor am I"flaunting my wealth" but whatever.

what is this, then?
Sorry I'm only 18 and have a 350hp sled that cost me $34,000 to build!!! Yea I thought this was supposed to be a "friendly" forum but I guess the azzholes have taken over!!! It just reaks of JEALOUSY in here though!!! JEEZ!!! Yea I love my new $53,000 truck too!!! Oh, and my $18,000 back-up sled!!!

lol if you payed 53,000 for your truck you got jipped. i payed 47 for a fully loaded lariat. i make payments each month, go to college, and work. Took me since 04 to build my sled and i am proud of it. Sleds were a christmas present to me and my brother, aftermarket is all on us. Though we did work to pay cash for our 05 650 Arctic Cat ATV's. Sounds like you are a trust fund kid.

To the topic at hand: I live on the side of a mountain so im not a flatlander but im not that good of a rider so i dont call myself a great mountain rider.

He's skeered! Already said that he doesn't wanna ruin his sled on the first day out.

Chit, with his "money" he could just replace it if it gets smoked! I think his mouth has written a few checks that his body can't cash!

Advertising what you own and listing the price is just show and tell crap...... Kinda like kindigarten when I brought my dinky cars and bragged about how much my mommy paid for it. It was easy back then...... Five year olds will believe anything. People on here are not idiots. They own the big toys and own their own trucks. Most of them newer. Be proud of what you built, not bought and if you can't be proud of what you built.... then be proud of how you ride what you bought.

Remember.... The best are out there and chances are, you will never hear them brag about how good a rider they are. But when you call them out, they will produce.

Bonner.... You got an offer to ride a ride that many ppl would travel long ways to go on..... Me, I'd be there in a heart beat if work wasnt a conflict.... winter work is gayer than two man louge. I know I can't ride like those guys, so there is no point in me blowing myself up on here even if I know I'll never see or ride with them. I just like to ride. Right around the time the back door of the trailer opens up, everything goes away..... Work, divorce, the burn I get when I pee..... EVERYTHING!!

I would love to go on a ride just to watch the best ride.... learn a little about riding and gain a little humbling. I adimt I can't ride as good, but when we get to the bar after..... I'm more than willing to say I can drink.

Just be happy you can ride and you have a nice sled..... Who cares what you own and how much it cost. If it makes YOU happy, that should be enough.

Ok well, I am thinkin this douchebag Boost-Goose Might be on to something.. That is if he can ride, which I am really really really doubting. Anyway he just got an invite to be filmed by a top rider in one of the top productions each year.. How many guys would love that invite.. He did this without sponsorship without a reputation of his ability and without spending a dime.. Seems like a good ploy...
UH OH.. then come all this "um.... uh.... well.... shucks guys I was gonna show up and school you guys but when my challenge got excepted I got scared and decided to make up things and now I am gonna say I cant go because my buddy backed out."
Hey Boostegg Phatty is willing to drive at least 8hrs by himself out of his way to show you whats up. WHy dont you jump in that $50K truck and meet up with him. You wont be alone and he can show you how he rides..
Jesus I am dumb from reading this thread I cant even keep a train of thought going.
To finish this off I have to say. In so many other threads I have read Boostbaby bashed on 2 stroke turbos so hard that even guys that own them were starting to second guess there decision to own one.. Now all the sudden he flip flops again and is saying he might just end up with one.. Weird I say weird.. Anyway I am dumber from reading this thread so I dont plan on ever coming back to it!!
Boostchild when you grow up and learn to be "HUMBLE" you are probably gonna be an ok forum member!! Have fun ride hard and be safe!!

i think i might add this to my sig line... this is exactly why i ride sleds
"I just like to ride. Right around the time the back door of the trailer opens up, everything goes away..... Work, divorce, the burn I get when I pee..... EVERYTHING!!"

For a brief moment in time all is well and life is good. The stress, the rat race, everything is gone and i live for those moments...

Phatty..... I've reconsidered!!! The golden goose might be on to something here. He called - you answered with an offer to ride. Since he's not going, there should be room, and, after just watching the Boondockers4 clip again, I'm considering my options....... Sit here watching a service rig or drive for a while and ride.

So..... I'll have to go with the latter!!

It's worth a shot.......

I think I can out ride you. That was 10:30 right?

lol, yep

You want to know how to get rid of half, of the riders in Cooke? Close the bars! I swear, some peps, only go there to drink (excessively)!

(I had to add excessively, so as to exclude me) :beer;

p.s. is anyone else wondering where/what, Rock Crick Montana, is?

BC is a long drive but be there or be square!!! just dont be mad when you spend your entire day digging me out :face-icon-small-blu i fall off my sled all the time!!!

Attitude

Hay boost boner. I live in Gardiner Montana, the closest you can live to Cooke city with out actually.... living in Cooke city. I'll go riding with you! I go to Cooke almost every weekend ( if money permits ) so if you are going to be up hear then let me know.

BTW, has anyone ever been to Rock Crick Montana? Its about 11 miles from Gardiner and it has better shoots, climbing, and ditch banging then Cooke if you know ware to go. Plus it doesn't get nearly as much traffic as Cooke so there is always fresh powder to get stuck in :D The reason why I am telling you all this is so that maybe the next time you spend a weekend in Cooke, on the way in you might stop there and see if you like it because the forest service is trying to shut it down and the way i see it, the more traffic it gest the better!

Anyways I found this thread most enjoyable so I thought I would say...

I am proud that, I , a 16 year old owns 1968 Chevy truck ($2000) and my own  2006 700 RMK  ($4000). I paid for them completely and entirely by myself in which makes me quite proud. Thus saying all this I am not ashamed in saying I... suck. I get stuck in front of my own house let alone boondocking. But at least I can say I spend a hell of allot less to go sledding then all you guys do and I still have fun. It doesn't matter ware you are, if there’s snow (how ever little of it there might be), and you have a sled, (how ever little it may be) and you have a riding buddy, how could you not have fun? Flatlander or Mountain rider.

If anything you can just spin doughnuts in a parking lot or something? I take that back, screw flatlanders, mountains are ware the funs at!
I hope my boys have an attitude like yours when they are 16...Keep up the good work....

Me too.... Hopefully I can fall off close to you so it's not too far of a hike. I don't mind digging..... I'm used to it!!

Flatlanders can't ride like locals. I know this from experience. I also know that it doesn't matter what kinda sled you have to a point (turbos aside) I seen some crazy pulls from locals on the old wedge chassis, older skidoos....he!! our AC dealer in storm lake is an incredible rider and can take a short track where short tracks aren't supposed to get to. His son is the same way...just incredible riders. I ride to ride, I'm not out there to impress anyone. I like to push my limits and like anyone else I make mistakes. The key is to learn from them, figure out what happened, correct yourself and try again. I would love to ride with some of the big names. Gardiner and Burandt to name a few. The knowledge that can be attained from them is priceless. It's about the ride...

Flatlanders can ride a 800cc sled down a narrow two way trail at over 110mph with a .28 BAC........and they often live to later tell about it.

-----------------------------------------------

Here's a few fatality scripts from the Wisconsin DOT website.

The victim was operating a borrowed snowmobile that had been modified with a second throttle lever on the left handle bar a short distance from the brake. It appears that the victim attempted to brake coming into a corner and at a high rate of speed and squeezed the 2nd throttle by mistake. The victim failed to negotiate the corner and went off the trail into some trees.

.48 BAC at 1:55 pm. 49 years old.

The victim was traveling at a fast speed on the ice, headed back towards the cabin and appeared to have driven over a depression on the shoreline. The outer edge of the snowmoibles left ski struck a tree changing the direction of the machine which then struck a second tree. The victim was ejected from the snowmoible went airborne through an open service door of the basement and struck a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer.

.206 BAC. 36 years old.
