Whistler-Pemberton official 09-10 thread

This is the year for the Turbo! How is it running. Wasn't out today but conditions cann't get much better.

Boost is Good Ray

Lots of Avy's out there Fractures all over the place. All the heavy snow is coming down. The entire wall on the right side of Branywine came down even up in the trees. Once you get up on the glacier there are still tons of crevasses open. Be careful. Live to ride another day. Here is a pic of a sled we found up on the ice cap today.

Merry Christmas

Both wrong! One of my secret spots which will remain nameless.

Where was everyone today? Rutherford was only 1/4 full. Trail was groomed. It was cold on the trail but nice up top. Powder is still good. Saw one guy just miss a crevasse, If you aren't familiar with glacier travel go slow or hire a guide!

Just a teaser from yesterday... got some more on my blog @ www.NadiaSamer.com

Had my friend Chad up for his first day up the Rutherford, and we were 2 of 5 or 6 people up there on Xmas. Amazing day, all the photos are his, more at www.ChadSpector.com

Was up Rutherford yesterday, Brandywine today. Pretty empty both days, great snow, sunny... best Christmas ever! Probably back up Brandywine tomorrow. Watch out, all the south, south/east aspects have been warmed by the sun and are naturally releasing. The last 2 days of super warm temps and inversions have not helped this cycle. I wouldn't try climbing these aspects, or riding under them. Stick to the middle of the valley, or North North/West facing slopes.

Like previously said, watch for crevasses, they are everywhere and some of the crossings/climbs have giant holes 5ft on either side. Don't stray too far from the main tracks.
