I agree with Summitseeker please don't leave,you along with others that post the valuable info that you do does this forum a lot of good.I always look forward to your post as they have got me wanting to make it to your riding area for a ride.You are an asset to this site and to the sledding community in general.

Snow is good if you can get to it!! You need a checkpoint pass that most club members should already have to get past Squamish. Parking is going to be brutal. You can still ride Brohm, Tricouni, Powder Mountain, Rutherford of course and anything north of Rutherford but it's going to be brutal getting through the traffic if you are coming from the south.
You require a checkpoint pass in Squamish as of 6:00 AM so if you do not have a checkpoint pass, I suggest you go pass through Alice Lake before 5:45 AM to get through.
I am going to Mexico for half of the Olympics to avoid the mess! Although I do have to say that the excitement around the city is something I have not seen for a long time! Plus I get to go to an Canada/Sweden hockey game!
I am sure you will be fine! I am guessing traffic will be heavier than normal on Duffy Lake road but nothing like the Sea to Sky hwy!!

The Sea to Sky Hwy is a joke at the moment. I live in Squamish and commute to Van for work. This morning I drove to Whistler to drop off some things at 9:30 am. The Hwy closure is already in effect and I have a Hwy pass so I am not affected but......... There is no traffic on the Hwy at all!!!!!. They have also converted the Hwy into 3 lanes where it is 2 and 4 lanes where it is 3 by putting these plastic reflector sticks all over the Hwy. I truly passed 2 X as many cops as I did cars vehicles and bus's. You can not drive 3 miles without seeing a cop on the side of the road and 4 cops or more at every intersection. I felt like I was back in old Havana. Tax dollars hard at work. Sledding will be great if you can see on the weekend and Summitseeker you know where we will ride on the Saturday
Well that was weird!! Least amount of traffic I have EVER seen on the Sea to Sky highway! I passed lots of buses and cop cars but that was it!! First day of the Olympics and I was expecting a nightmare on the highway.
