What are you guys pulling your sleds/trailers with?

Ya, parking my 1/2 ton was a pita but doable, In the area I live..parking a 1 ton crew cab, long bed will be a nightmare.. I'm still leaning towards the 01' f250 PSD.. Thanks for the input.

LOL....the guy asks for a truck to pull a 2 place open trailer, that he was previously towing with a goddamn Subaru, and everyone posts their crewcab diesels with 35' trailers.

If you want a diesel go for it, but anything over a 1/2 ton gas pot sounds like massive overkill for what you're using it for. Unless you tow that Camaro all the time, you will just be burning up extra money in maintenence and driving around a big lump with nothing in the back. I would be more inclined to go the 1/2 ton route, pick your brand and get the newest one, with the most options you can find. Just my .02

I pull a 3 place trailer with my 05 chevy 1/2 ton with no problems. I believe it is rated for 7500lbs. i get about 10-12 with my snowmobile trailer and same with my 20ft boat. It does just fine in my opinion.

I would love to have 3/4 ton diesel but the biggest thing I tow is a skidsteer about once a month and other than that I have no need for a bigger pickup.:)

almost 20mpg with my 06 Tacoma ext cab (no sleds). Can haul 5500lbs supposedly, but has no trouble with a two place trailer and sleds. It's not so happy with two on the trailer and one in the truck box. I used to pull the same 2 spot and sleds with my 99 Cherokee sport. It would hold 80km/hr up Kicking Horse Pass. The Taco has no problems with big hills.

Ford f350 crewcab 10'' lift and 38's it sucks in snow:eek:, I bought an 01 grand cherokee for this year, it doesnt look as good in the snow but im sure it tows and stops better and were planning on some road trips so its gonna be a little easier to get around:beer;

Pulling 16' Floe with 4 mountain sleds on it, yes it hangs off the front and rear a bit but all legal with a 08 F150 Crew Cab 6.5' box and 3:73's rolling on 18's with posi. May install airbag set up and levelling kit depending on how Christmas treats me. The programer is a must simply for a good transmission shift IMO.

V8 5.2 Liter Monster Jeep grand Cherokee.. its got bells and its got whistles..

srsly, am/fm radio with CD player, windows that work, a sun roof and a couple seats.. its radical man, radical!

I had 03 & 05 Ford F350 crew diesels and then drove an F150 for 6 months. The F350s are great to travel long distances in, expensive to purchase and maintain. IMO

I bought a brand new leftover 06 Dodge 2500 Ram 14 months ago, it was marked down $13,000 off list, it's gota Hemi, I paid $22,000. I bought one with 4.10 gearing and put 33 inch tires on. This has been a great truck, it gets the same mileage as my 05 Ford diesel, about 9-11 mpg pulling my trailer.

"I am not bashin the Ford". I drive about 35,000-40,000 miles a year. The F150 was OK , but I like the 3/4 or 1 tons better for the long trips, most of the time in snow storms, I was locked in 4-wheel drive for 750 miles last December driving all night. I'm traveling from MN, 5-7 trips a year out west. Oh, my wife drives a Subaru, we just carry the snowboards on that.

03 chev ext cab 1500 with the little 5.3 short bed with gibson exhaust here. even with a 6inlift and 35s it does fine with a 2 place and one in the bed. this is going up some pretty good canyons. It revs like crazy when it drops gears but that motor loves 6k rpm.

p.s. that is including a stock heavy apex, lots of fuel/gear and 2 of the passengers are over 200lbs easy.

My 'Duty. Will someday put a sled deck on it, but cant justify one yet. Tows our drill from work around, my Mustang to the strip in Mission, whatever i ask of it. AFE intake, MBRP 4" duals, SCT tuned, ARP studs, EGR delete, 6" on 37's for the time being. I love it.
