What are you guys pulling your sleds/trailers with?

06 Mega cab 5.9 30 ft gooeeneck open deck. 7 sleds 13 peoples worth of gear,and 4 stinking guys in the cab for 24.5 hours . 2 tanks at 6.5 mpg the rest were at 10 to 13 mpg. This year we won't have any 6.5 mpg tanks!!!!!

2000 V6 RX 300 with 180,000 miles. Trailer is old 2 place open tilt Triton XT with salt shield. 1 sled is 03 and one is 01. Old Sorrel boots and old Columbia Titanium coat and pants.

It all works great for me. Best of all....it's all paid for.

i'll usually pull my trailer and sleds with a truck. sometimes i will pull them with my boat though. and once in a while i'll even pull them behind my horses.....

07 dodge diesel 2 on the deck 2 on the trailer..when the fuel says E filler up..dont count the miles..it still cost the same to fill it:beer;

thats probably the best explanation I have ever heard on mileage on a truck. I can't stand the, how do i get better mileage with my truck threads.

I trailer with a BMW X5 4.8is. Of course it's more of a hot rod truck but it pulls the trailer with ease and is very smooth. I generally pull a 2 place for our short trips but have pulled a 4-place and it was perfect.

Add in heated steering wheel and all the trimmings and its a pretty pleasent ride.

Oh yeah, and a 10,000 lb towing capacity :)

Or this

I snaped this pic with my camera phone last year. Couldn't believe my eyes. Not the best pic, but I think it was a very old audi. I must say, I was somewhat impressed considering there was 8" of fresh snow on the road at some places. Notice the sleds hanging off the trailer about 3 feet. Looks like some good ol' boys

I'll second that. I'm sure it's not just a Wyoming thing. There's nothing like a big , gas guzzeling, 4x4, long bed truck. it Does not matter what kind it is.

My only change to that is to make it a DIESEL burner and a Ford :D
99 F250 Stroker crew cab short box 4x4. You'll be hard pressed to get 20+mpg from a 7.3L empty unless you get a 2wd.

02 F250 XLT PSD 7.3 4x4 with intake/exhaust and a tuner. 18-20mpg unloaded @ 65 mph.

I have a buddy who used to load up his 440 race sled into the back of his subaru justy and go to races...dont ask me how it worked (he makes everything work). I pull my trailer with a 2000 F250 powerstroke with all the goodies ;)

A full size truck is certainly the way to go, however don't kid yourself. Parking a full size truck sucks if you have to drive into a city etc. Parking garages are impossible. I stick my wife with the truck when I know I have to go somewhere with tight parking.

After owning and towing with a number of cars/trucks I'd never tow on snowy roads with anything less than a full size truck. Even a Dakota I had in the past would get pushed by the trailer on icy roads. That is some scary chit!
