Rode Clemina yesterday. Tracked up in the main areas but lots of powder if you want to get off the beaten path. Lots of first time riders not accustomed to the hills around getting buried so a guy had to be carefull. Saw some kids on some old elans though, that was sweet! Buddies sled died so I had to pull him out, trail ws getting a tad beat up for that nonsense.

Guys had to go to other areas as the parking lot was full at maybe 10am or so. We got one of the last spots. Dude taking the $$ said there was an easy 150 up the trail allready when we paid!

Rode Renshaw the day before. I'm continually underwhelmed by that place. Sure looks like it could be nice but it always seems cold and windblown. Not much snow there in my opinion.

Rode Belle yesterday. Was beat up pretty bad. Found a rock, but damage was minimal. Need snow bad.. Rode Renshaw today, lady there said about 300 passes were sold and still people coming. Trail was not the best on the way up, lots of icy sections at the bottom. Snowing hard off and on all day. Had to stick to the trees, which was alright cause we found some areas that had not been touch at all yet... really deep and fluffy. Trail down was brutal... wait whats worse then brutal.. thats how the trail was...it's snowing up top, but in this case they need some snow down below. The first few km's of the trail the groomer can't even do anything with cause it's ALL ice.

Oh well... still good to get out!!

Renshaw and continually underwhlemed??????????? Huh

Ya i've rode the renshaw a alot and yes it does get wind blown sometimes, but i've rode alot of deep fresh there also and really what alpine doesn't get wind blown.I think the renshaw if you get to know it really well is one of the best areas in b.c. and there is places way back in there people don't know about.

Lack of snow in Renshaw? ???

Heard Valemount got a good dump of snow the other day. The town even got it pretty good. Buddy has a house there and took him a few hrs to dig himself out of the driveway.lol

yes snow levels are low

Mtncrazy and I hooked up with Treemongrel, CR500R and the rest of the crew. We rode both days and never saw a sole.
Good powder, but the snow levels are low. there were rocks showing in some spots that were never thought there. one victim to the rock gods.

Good to ride again with you Dan, Dave, it was good to meet you finally also. Sorry we had to leave right away, but there was some road in front of us to drive. Thank your folks again for their unsurpassed hospitality!

All in all with limited visibility, the weekend was very good!

Pics to follow, and maybe a vid or 2!

Treemongrel does live up to his name! for sure!

Rode McBride this weekend also, Friday Lucille, trail up was good, hill was beat, but just wanted a warm up for first ride of the year. Sat. Renshaw, trail up was good trail down was bad, hill was great lots of untouched, went in thru the old trail and dropped into a place we call Weinburgs bowl. Hardly a track and 1-2ft of good snow. Pulled out of there and made our way around the valley back up thru the middle saddle to cabin, great ride. Sunday did 1/2 day at an area no one had been to and dropped into another 1-2ft of untouched. Played for about 3hrs then headed home. My pics suck so i won't even post them. But great first ride of the year. Keith.

No, the old trail is to the left just before the main Renshaw trail heads up into the trees.
Take that thru to a meadow and at the far end it narrows thru the trees up into the renshaw. But you end up quite a ways away from the cabin. Keith.

Haven't found a tree yet that hasn't liked being cozied up to. All in all a good weekend, It was good riding with marc and mtncrazy, some good stucks had by all. Out of the 9 ridin one trailing arm was bent and minor cosmetic damage to three more. Holy crap do those new 08 summits work good.
