*valemount~mcbride Conditions 07-08*

hmmm, still trying to figure out this old forum. didnt know there was a new section

Sorry guys, limited info and no pics. I will be in an 11 hour a day avy course for the next week so my posts will be limited at best. We will be in the field lots, so I will post info as I get it and time permits.

We did ride Chappell yesterday and with the recent new snow south, the trail has improved and we were riding in over the hood, snorkel snow. If you are in the area, I reccomed to hit it now ! O visibility so folks did not travel. We are planning on running a groomer up on thursday evening.

Merry Christmas

Picks were actually tooken on Friday. It was a epic day of sun and fresh snow. Looks like Allen Creek has its fair share of snow as will. Cant wait to go again in March when thats the next time i will have time off!

I have (soon to be had) a casio camera 7Megapixel i believe. But i didnt know what kind of settin it was on since the screen was wreaked. As far as i know they make a garbage product. Ill have to look into a Quince for spring. I assume the pics are pretty big?

1st time ever at Renshaw... and couldnt be even happier. Checked in Thursday nite and talked to a couple of guys and they said best snow in 10yrs... snow over the hood all day.

Was it you guys we talked to outside the Canoe on Thursday night? Still waiting for pics from the still camera guys, should have video loaded this week. Friday looked as good as Thursday at Renshaw.

We rolled in about 7:30PM B.C time Thurs nite. It was outside the North Country Lodge where we were stayin. The lady workin at the desk said there has been a few theifts with sleds so far at the start of the yr. Gotta get my friends on the enclosed idea!

Rode allan today and mcbride yesterday. Allan had about a foot on top of old tracks but it was snowing pretty hard when we left. Mcbride was good too but our vis was down. Either way when it clears up it will be awsome!

MARCUSO.... im gona have the apex up and runing by x mas and prob gona ride allen a few days b4 new years and a few days after.. mabey we can hook up..

30 cm of fresh in the last day or so in the Allan Creek area and still falling when we left. Great snow folks:D

The Allan lot is a little deep, we just cant keep up. The groomer will clear a runway at least tonight, but noone had any trouble today, its nice fluffy snow.

Plan for Chappel tomorrow evening is still on

Please check avy conditions before going out, especially with all this new snow. Have a look at the pic !

Cool thanks alot, gonna be down there from the 27 -31 is it usually pretty busy over christmas break

Busy?

It is the busiest time of the year. Half the world rides between christmas and new years out here. Good thing is there are some pretty large areas to ride. The only problem is you will get alot of coneheads spinning off the snow on the trails and leaving alot of garbage behind. Easy on the throttle around the corners, and tell the guys with you to take out ALL of their garbage.
Get to the parking lots early and be safe out there. This is the week where you will generally hear of people getting burried cause they dont know how to read the snow. Get the proper gear for sure.
Happy holidays, and good sleddin.

Just from our recent course field studies, we have 200HS (goat ridge) in the Valemount Alpine taken 30-40cm HST from the last 48hr.

Crazy day in the alpine today watching naturals from 1-2 go off in Danger basin. Take a look at this 1 on goat ridge. 8 people sitting in the gully at times, 2-3 folks on the slope. CRAZY !

Great snow !
