DOnt quote me but... I think up the trail a bit after the cabin is a sign that says 6400 ft?

5500-7000ft on averager throughout the whole area. Starting elevation around 3500ft at most parking lots. Pretty much the same at McBride as well.

Out in chappell today
Left camera on the sled deck for the drive home so...no pics. Area was untouched
Snow was ok, 270 cm total depth, where we checked. Only 6 sleds in the whole place. SNow would have been great, but the wind has hit it pretty hard. A soft 8" on top of hard. Still soft enough, but you just dont how deep something was until you hit it. I could not climb off the first lake to the top with a fresh line.
A group from Allan yesterday said it was excellent

I haven't ridden Chappell for years, always seem to end up way back in Allen as we got more familiar with that area. Maybe with the avy situation this year Chappell could be a better choice, I seem to recall it always used to get the most snow, just a long ride.
How's the riding in March?? can a Lone sledder find guys to ride with??? nI get back out of camp on March 11th, looking for some riding. Thinking during the week, 16th-20 somewhere in there???

The snow is good most places.
Chappell had about 8" on top of a softer base yesterday and the sky even turned blue for the afternoon
Allan Creek today was socked right in most of the time and snowing hard. Anywhere from 3" of fresh to a foot in some spots. The farther back you went the better the snow/poorer the visibility.

Rode Renshaw on Friday, lucked out with the weather and actually had blue skies for most of the afternoon, found lots of fresh to track up. Saturday was not so good weather wise; chose to ride Clemina; pretty much socked in most of the day, but the visibility did improve later in the day and were able to salvage some good riding... lots of areas with 1'+ untracked fresh on top of a pretty solid base
Also, a big high five to the people at Willow Burl Cabins!!!!
By far the best place we have ever stayed at while sledding! Gorgeous clean cabins, quiet, private, secure parking, they have a great drying room so you can enjoy nice dry gear at the start of each day, I could go on and on....
I will definitely be back!
