Valemount Conditions and Updates

Rode Allan Thurs/Fri/Sat. .... socked on most of the 3 days, but Saturday was coming down hard, as mentioned above. If it keeps up, those of you riding next weekend will have it good. VARDA boys said it right... as you got back behind Premier, the snow got better, but you were right in the thick of the snow squalls.
Shout out to Maxwell, with the little 600 that could.... and to Cody and the Drayton Valley Boys!!!!

The hills are in good shape with the the odd dose of fresh in the evenings. The forcast is showing a mix for the next week, so good luck predicting

All of our trails will ready for the Family Day Weekend including the Keyhole.

Come on out for a ride !

Hello everyone

We had a great day in chappell today with about 8" of fresh on top of a great base. Stucks easily available in many areas, the sun was even out for most of the day and fun was had by all.

We are grooming chappell again tonight for the holiday weekend as well as the regular schedule(Allan and Clemina) and will run the trail for saturday and sunday.

I have attached a couple pictures from stops through out the day.

I will post Allan Creek conditions at the end of the day tomorrow. If you are in the area, and see the Host Team (Brightest yellow jackets you have ever seen:eek:) stop and say Hi, if you are new we can show you around for a while.

Have a great weekend !

Yeah, everyone loves the milk crate, but honestly its the only thing that can hold the riggin that I have to bring along with me:cool:

Allan Creek was good today. Beautiful trail up in the morning and the groomer will be hitting Clemina and Allan again tonight.

Not as good as Chappell was yesterday, but 6" + of good soft snow most places and many areas had way more and the snow was great, you just have to get a little creative sometimes.

Lots of friendly folks and families up on the hill today and everyone had as great day.

As the snow gets used up over the weekend, please resist temptation and respect all riding area boundaries, its for the better of everyone Lots of great lines left, and like stated above, just get a little creative.

Have a great weekend

Hows the sno conditions in Valemount

Myself and 2 buddies are coming up to Valemount on friday from Dawson Creek to ride on sat and sun, just wondering how your snow conditions currently are? None of us have rode there before but we have heard good things about your area. Any pointers or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello

Conditions are kinda like spring right now.... There is good snow left in places and in the trees. It will be a great time for a first visit, as the sun has been out for days and visibility should be great !

We have obligations on saturday, but may be able to show you around a bit on sunday.

If you can, call me at the varda office tomorrow and i can answer any questions 250-566-4817

well me and a couple of buddies are doing on our second trip out on march 26-april 1 last time around we stayed right in valemount at canoe mountain lodge it was pretty good.. what are the other options in valemount i had heard a bit about willow burl but how far is that out of the town? last time out we rode renshaw and allen creek, we are going to renshaw again for sure but what other places should we check out while there? also is there a way to get maps to the parking lots at least of some of these other hidden secrets. if a group wanted to hire a guide for a couple of days where do we start looking?

Willow Burl is awesome, highly recommended! They are 8km south of Valemount, on the way to Clemina, Allen, and Chappel... Try them out, you won't be disappointed :)

Well, its been a beauful sunny week:o The areas are what you can expect from weeks without snow, but its still a great day in the mountains and there are lines left out there. We were filming in Allan yesterday for the Ride Guide TV show, they brought a young pro skier and snowboarder with them, those guys are nuts ! They sure loved our terrain and beautiful weather for filming.

The weather man is calling for the whitestuff this week, so lets gear up for a fresh weekend....finally !

Try to find the snowboarder in the pic below..

The Government Page only has maps for the new closures. Valemounts boundaries have stayed the same in all of our managed areas. Oasis, Westridge, Keyhole, Horsey all have the same boundaries as well. We will all have to start looking closer at the maps as we explore new areas to make sure we are within legal areas. Hopefully goverment will provide better mapping very soon. We are looking to get all of our boundary information into KMZ files for Google Earth as soon as they can be provided to us, so the public can better relate to the linage.

As for guides, the only Tenured operator for Valemount is Jasper Snowmobile Tours.

NOW as for the snow...... it is finally here:D Currently a complete whiteout ! This is going to set us up for a great weekend !

The snow is still falling. We are going to have an excellent weekend in the hills ! I wont have a first hand report until Friday
