Young voters are very naive. Its not that they are stupid, they just dont know any better. All it takes to win a vote is who's name is more common in the media.

Take a conversation I had earlier this week with a co-worker, he's 23, I asked him who he was voting for. He said Obama. I asked him why just like anyone else would  he told me straight up that he didnt really know. A tax payer doesnt know why he will pick a certain someone to be the face for our country. wtf?

That being said, young americans are ignorant, the whole lot of us. Lazy, lazy would be more apt to fit the description. People in America will vote for who they are told to vote for, so I guess a small technicality would be that they dont feel they have a choice because they are too lazy to go find a reason to vote for either or and its much easier to listen to your best friend or follow suit. Be a sheep im lamens terms

Its not because he's black, or has a muslim name. I just flat out dont agree with his plan. I think he is spectacular at manipulation, and like said above, so was hitler.

He will get assasinated, America/ the world is too corrupt and there are too many radical belief systems out wondering the world for him to live long.

Its too bad soo many countries are effected by Americas Economy. When we vote, its almost as if we vote for the whole world. So maybe in turn we are putting Hitler in control.

Im rambling on now :eek: I dont know as much as I think I know, maybe I really am naive, but there are no right or wrong answers. Its a guess and check system with a trail of clues.

I vote in favor of America as an independent, drill our own oil and stop being the world police. China could be a major problem in the comming years. I dont think neither Mccain or Obama have the answers.

oh well, my .02. Any rebuttals? :)

Top 5% makes, start at $157,176 per year. That's a family I believe.

Obama has thrown out two numbers of what he considers rich. There's the $250,000 number, and a $150,000 number. The $150,000 is his point below which people get tax relief.

Foxnews transcript:
OBAMA: And that’s why I’ve structured a change in the tax code where if you are making $150,000 a year or less, you’re getting a tax cut, 95 percent of the American families will get a tax cut.

HEMMER: What do you consider…

OBAMA: And the people who are going to see their income taxes raised, go up, are making more than $250,000 a year. So you and I will pay a little bit more in taxes because we can afford it. And what that allows us to do is to help the vast majority of Americans who are really hurting in this economy.

HEMMER: I know we’re pushed for time. Can you give me a definition of the middle class based on income, within a range?

OBAMA: You know, what I would say is, if you are making more than $250,000, than you’re more than middle class. You’re doing better. If you are making less than $250,000, then you are definitely somewhere in the middle class.

And if you’re making $150,000 or less, than I think most Americans would agree that you’re middle class. So that’s why the fact that if you are making less than $250,000, you will not see your taxes go up under an Obama administration. And you will get tax cuts and more money in your pocket if you make less $150,000.

I think that’s the right way to promote the kind of bottom-up economic growth that’s going to make a difference in people’s lives.
source

Obama plan:
If you make over $250,000, your payroll taxes will increase by 6.2%.
You make over $357,700, your tax rate will increase from 35%, to 39.6%, and you get hit with payroll tax increase.
Along with a itemized deduction phaseout, and the new payroll tax hit, a person making over $357,700 can expect to pay 52% federal tax rate

i dont know if that was reffered to me, but ill take as it was...When i say he plans to tax big companies, i dont mean tax oil companies more then already are. Just have the ACTUALLY pay what they should be taxed. And its not just oil, there are a number of companies that simply didnt pay their taxes, and never heard from the IRS again. This is a huge sum of money.

and i dont agree on taxing oil companies any more then they already are

still if they make them fork over the cash that will still be more $ outa their pockets and still drive up prices. and yes they should pay what they actually are taxed...if it was some average joe that didnt pay up they would be all over him like white on rice

and Hitler pulled a broken Germany into a force that almost took over the world...Sounds like a good leader to me. Im NOT talking about his beliefs or morals, but what he did is pretty amazing....

But your right, govt is silly....;):D

didn't Hitler motivate the people by convincing them the Aryan race was superior to everyone else? Hmmm interesting tactic. start a race war to jump start the economy?

Hitler led National Socialist German Workers party(Nazi) in 1920. He gained popularity by promoting nationalism, antisemitism, and anticommunism. He became a fascist dictator with the help of Goring, Hess, Rohm, and Himmler.
Luckily Obama has Michele, Jeremiah Wright,Raila Odinga, and Biden.

You couldn't get a
job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of
experience.

You couldn't become chief of surgery
after 143 days of experience of being a
surgeon.

You couldn't get a job as a teacher and
be the superintendent after 143 days of
experience.

You couldn't join the military and
become a colonel after a 143 days of
experience.

You couldn't get a job as a reporter
and become the nightly
news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....

'From the time Barack Obama
was sworn in as a United State
Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory
committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's
how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143
days of work experience,
Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the
Free World .... 143
days

We all have to start
somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is
- a start.

AND, strangely, a
large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning
for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay
with this for the President of the United States of America ? Come on
folks, we are not voting for the next American
Idol!

that is the downside. For exmaple, a family whos dad is a college professor and mother is a architect, probably wont get a tax cut. But, say the father is a mechanic and the mother is a waiter, i think it will help...

Uh, what? I have several friends that are mechanics, they make a heck of a lot more then I do. Bottom line is increased taxes do not stimulate an economy. Lowering taxes does. Let the people keep some of their hard earned money, then they buy things, like snowmobiles… The economy grows. Tax oil companies, the cost of oil goes up, the cost of fuel goes up, the people have less money to spend, the economy continues to go downhill. Same goes, if you tax the big companies, they increase their prices… Only hurts the average people.

You missed the whole point of the government confiscating your hard earned money via taxes. In demonrat world the government wants the money spent where they think that it should go because they are smarter than you. Aside from that if they let you keep more of your money then they would have less money in which to buy votes with.

FYI, of the 95% that obama says will get a tax cut, 45% already don't pay taxes so they will reap a benefit by getting more money that they never paid in the first place and that is just another income transfer , vote buying scheme............obama is nothing more than a friggin lying socialist.

Hitler rose in popularity when he started to have people killed when they didn't agree with him. I may of been tricked into thinkin he was the man back then. There is an old saying....history has a way of repeating itself. I don't think Obama is Hitler but I don't agree with his ideas. The more homework people do on their own, study the facts, people will find he's not the man for us.

No I understand all that. I am not an Obama fan. I wanted to point out that you can't consider all mechanics low income and that I don't feel raising any taxes is a solution to anything.

Buddy ........ do you seriously think that ANY party (Dem or Rep) acts any differently than this???

While that may be true to some degree, it's the demonrats that keep saying mo money, mo money, mo money and the repubs realize that our threshold for being fleeced is wearing thin, very thin.

Besides, it's the demonrats that have more to lose if the people wha actually earn the dollars are allowed to keep them as that leaves the demonrat party with less bribe money to go around.

I've got just one question. How much do you have to earn to be a very high income family? Not as much as you folks might think.

Right! The govt. considers my joint income with my wife high income but my bills, my son and the baby on the way say different!

he plans to tax the many multi-million dollar companies that didnt pay them last year (millions of dollars that the IRS ignored), and to raise taxes on people with very high income, but wants tax breaks to 95 percent of the people....

just something to think about....

Here we go..... the evil corporation that doesn't pay taxes.....Your probably refering to the article a few weeks back that claimed some crazy percentage of businesses did not pay taxes, and they left that as the final word.....

what needed to be said and wasn't, was the fact that of those companies that didn't pay taxes, how many turned a profit? Or how many were overseas corporations...and are not required to pay taxes in the US if they pay them to there own country.....

Just because General motors had billions in sales, should they have to pay taxes even though they lost money?

You, like many of other people try to blame a lot of the evils on business and profits, and really have no idea how hard it is to run a small business with government standing in the way and hindering our progress.... That is where economic growth comes from...SMALL BUSINESSES

.....government can not tax it's way to prosperity....CORPORATIONS DO NOT PAY TAXES......THEY PASS THEM ALONG TO CUSTOMERS

There ya go drinking the dfl koolaid again. You silly dfl'er the 5% that you refer to is the unemployment rate which usually only relates to able bodied persons that are actually looking for work after they lost their job and were once productive wage earners.. The 45% refer to the ones that don't actually work or work just enough to file a tax return and recive a tax "refund" for much greaater than the taxes that they actually paid or did not pay at all. There are also many that are on government programs that do not work and do not pay any taxes but use up more than their "fair share" of government dollars. Yes, I realize that there are those that cannot help themselves and yes, we should help those but, I have a problem with helping those that refuse to help themselves. Keep sippin the ol koolaid, it helps to dull the pain of installing the blinders. FYI.............DFL stands fo D umb F ool L iberal
