The official SnoWest GUN RANT Thread!

You know its almost IMPOSSIBLE to even walk the floor in just two days.
You have to REALLY be moving and NOT wasting any time at all just to cover the exhibitors in 2 show days....

We did the show for only 2 days last year and hated it.
Had little to no time at all to talk with exhibitors in any real detail about new technology.

3 days would be comfortable.
4 makes it FUN!

Did the Shot show a few years back at the Las Vegas Convention center in two days, I do the World of Concrete every year which is one of the largest conventions Vegas has in two days. I go to Vegas in hours not days to much tempation.

Jeez, the World of Concrete is a HUGE MASSIVE SHOW!
Used to run into that with our DEMA SCUBA show years ago.

And yes, Shot is small by comparison to the main convention center.
Last time I was there was for the SEMA show.
Thats a big one as well.

Many years ago I used to exhibit at the COMDEX show.
Back when it would draw a couple hundred thousand people and take up every exhibition facility in 8 different hotels + The convention center.
That was the biggest show I have ever been to.

Vegas is one of my favorite towns.
Sooo many fun things to do for a guy that doesn't drink or gamble!

But I am expecting SHOT to be BIG this year.
With all thats going on I expect them to set a record for attendance this time around.

I want to see Ohio Ordnance semi auto M240-SLR want to add one to my collection, but before I drop 13K I want to touch one

Why should I be punished for those actions of a few criminals when 99% of us guns owners are responsible.

You shouldn't. Though that is why I stated negligence in protecting ones firearms. Do you know what the Sandy shooters mom had for keeping her firearms? Obviously it wasn't enough, but I am curious if it could have been considered reasonably enough.

Sorry to here about your family.

Do you dabble in NFA Tittle II weapons ?

I just set up an NFA trust for everything I have.

I live on the wrong side of the river here, Iowa doesn't allow AOW or class 3. But they do allow me to get my C & R which I'm think hard about getting. What I really need to do is get mt FFL and then work it into at Class 3 FFL

I have no idea if her weapons were secured, I would speculate they were not, or her son knew the code or had keys. TOobe honest with you I don't even know the shooters name, I refuse to. There should be no mention ever of a shooters name in the press when something like this happens, all it does IMO is create copycats.

On the sucide note; I believe if guns were not available in both cases, they would of used other means. The guns were the quick and easy way out. I have to walk a very fine line in my home when it comes to sucide. On one hand I have/need to be compassionate to my wife/family for the loss of her dad/brother, but on the other hand IMO it is a very selfish act that destoys the ones that loved them. I guess I angry at both of them for leaving us to pick up the pieces.

Sorry to hear that.
Out here in Idaho all of the gun stores CARRY NFA weapons in the display case!

Want a silencer, just walk into your local shop and buy one over the counter. Don't even have to order them in.

I LOVE IDAHO!!:face-icon-small-hap

You forgot to mention that in order to purchase these items you must stand in line behind WalMartians, the dudes from the trailerhood and a variety of illegal aliens with fake ID's their children made for them at Head Start! That being said, Idaho still rocks!!!

The Way Our Government Works

A guy stopped at a local gas station
& after filling his tank, he paid the bill and bought a soft drink.

He stood by his car to drink his cola and watched a couple of men working along the roadside.
One man would dig a hole two or three feet deep and then
move on.

The other man came along behind him and filled in the hole.
While one was digging a new hole, the other was 25 feet behind filling in the hole.

The men worked right past the guy with the soft drink and
went on down the road. "I can't stand this," said the man tossing the can into a trash container and heading down the road toward the men.

"Hold it, hold it," he said to the men. "Can
you tell me what's going on here with all this digging and refilling?"

"Well, we work for the government and we're just doing
our job," one of the men said. "But one of you is digging a hole
and the other fills it up. You're not accomplishing anything. Aren't you wasting the taxpayers' money?"

"You don't understand, mister," one of the men
said, leaning on his shovel and wiping his brow.

"Normally there's three of us:,..... Me,....Elmer,...and Leroy. I dig
the hole, Elmer puts in the tree,.......... and Leroy here puts the dirt back.

Elmer's job's been cut by the Gov't... so now it's just me
an' Leroy.

....and so it will go with gun registration

It;s all quite simple to me..."WILL NOT INFRINGE" and "unconstitutional laws are not laws"...as far as I am concerned, our goverment needs to back off-back down and go do something else ...failure to do so is going to start a chit show they dont want to see...all of our elected officails have gone to far this time....you can feel it, see it, sense it..and they best wisen up pretty quick..............

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he kill his mother before going to the school?

In that case she could have had them lying on the kitchen table or locked in a vault that would make Fort Knox look like a cardboard box. Either way a crime was committed to gain access to those guns at which point they were ILLEGAL GUNS.

HUH? If I borrow my son's gun and use it to commit a crime the weapon becomes illegal? :face-icon-small-dis

Illegally obtained. It is illegal to knowingly provide a weapon or tool to commit criminal acts.

^^^the provider would have to know that the borrowers intent was to commit an illegal act. Even if we use you premise that still doesn't make the weapon illegal it makes the individual committing the criminal act in violation of the law.

I know what youre getting at, it still has no valid answer. If you borrowed his sled to get there as well are you gonna reasonably try to make a point of banning sleds? Didnt think so... The only way to stop all crime, would be to imprison/enslave all of mankind. Exactly what all the steaming pile of worthless poo liberals want, and they dont even know it.

Common sense couldn't be beaten into a liberals head with a hammer, dont know why i even try.
