Sure it does.
There are many calibers that you can survive.
there are other larger calibers that you can't.
No one survives a chest shot with a .50 Cal.
Many survive a chest shot with a .223

If you look at it as an excuse, I'm with ya, but I look at it as an instance where a person can't even form an intent or has lost the ability to make a judgement.

Accountability applies to the sane. Ever watch or read 'Of Mice and Men'? That's where I'm coming from. Accountability allows for a different reaction if someone trips you accidentally, through carelessness, or if they do it on purpose. Maybe you shoot then ask questions latter?

I have no problem giving people a helping hand when needed, just not giving them a comfortable living for the rest of there life.

I also feel that the killer should die in a similar manner in which the victims did.

Likewise, rapists should become the "sex toys" of lifers in prisons....preferably lifers with aids.

I'm anti death penalty or at least the "american" version of it where it is stupid expensive. They need to go back to the use of a nice cheap rope methinks.

We could save ourselves so much money in so many places it is crazy.

1) Cut prisons back to bare essentials. No food unless you work. Unfair? too bad you lost your rights as a citizens when you broke the law.

2) Cut the crap involved with the legal system. My buddy got in trouble with the law for MJ and it took 9 months for him to get his 1 month prison sentence with numerous appearances in court.

3) Limit financial aid to countries we trade/ do business with

4) Remove/reduce military bases in places such as Japan and Germany. Discontinue building new ships or fighter planes(continue research and build enough to train the next generation). Put out of all conflicts.

5) Create flax taxes for businesses and the people(no loopholes).

6) Get rid of congressional benefits. No more pensions or healthcare for life.

7) No welfare... Directly. Discontinue all payments to the individual and instead send them to local shelters, foodbanks, and such. Everyone needs to earn a living, no more paychecks for sitting around popping babies out.

All off the top of my head. And I don't see that any of those are too difficult(besides getting out of all conflicts).

I understand your point as I am a psychiatric social worker. I still maintain, you shoot my family member I want you dead regardless of your intent. arsehole, drunk or crazy makes no difference to me.

Here's my take... This thread is.dead. there is no.argument that hasn't been Stated here already, the statistics are bogus, you can make them say whatever you want. Sure there are few gun crimes in places where guns are banned ( Australia) but the violent crimes, stabbings and such went up. Peopled are jacked in the head, Timothy.McVeigh didn't use a single bullet and he leveled how many city blocks with fertilizer and some diesel fuel? Last I checked our lawn are green and my trucks still running... If there are no guns they will find a way to kill. Regardless... This will just keep us from protecting ourselves.. to me that's a bigger issue than a government takeover... If one gun gets confiscated... There will be a uprising so large, this government will have no choice but to start shooting its citizens for all the world to see.. AND who's gonna do that? Maybe being from Wyoming makes us boys rednecked to the point nobody takes us seriously.. but I know you can't find a box a shells to save your life, and the ones you do find are priced like gold. And I'm guessing we are not the only state ready to stand up IF we had to, the question is who are we going to stand against? I have dozens of friends in the armed forces and not a single one would fire on a civilian... So what's left? Bombs? Is Obama just gonna push a button and blow America to hell? God knows he wants to. It's just not going to happen ..

Since im not religious I take my direction from the natural world and in nature the weak and those unable to act according to the rules of the herd /pack are forced out. This is is what we need in our society. A little more wolf and a bit less sheep

btw aging animals lose status in the herd and ultimatly die as nature intends just as we should allow our old folks to But that is another debate
