hey marty sorry for the typing error. thanks or pointing it out. I'm also sorry for misreading your post . but I said the guy made mistakes. but you can't take them back you just have to do your best to survive them. and that moose or mouse wasn't going anywhere.

I was enjoying watching the video, thinking how cool it is in our sport to be able to get that close to such a majestic animal.

I felt sick to my stomach when the coward pulled out a hand gun and started firing. I was hoping he was firing warning shots to scare it off......no, just pumping lead into the innocent creature & then leaving it to die a very likely slow miserable death. Also terrible that it lay along the trail for anyone else who happens along to see.

I am so ashamed to have this piece of turd riding a snowmobile.:face-icon-small-sad

I am pretty disgusted by this. I saw it the other day on HCS. This guy provoked the attack and continued to do so. he had other options to go around the animal. Hell he did not even fire a warning shot. I realize in the moment you need to make decisions, but at least try the make the correct ones.

I also second the motion to have the video removed. We do not need the bad press that will come from this.

snowmobilers get enough bad press as it is. This should be taken off for sure that was completely uncalled for and those actions reflect poorly on all of us. When people outside the sport see this vid they automatically lump all of us into the same category :mad2:
On a side note he should be charged with poaching without a doubt :mad2::mad2::mad2:

I felt just about the same way. This is awful for the sport, there aren't many things I can think of that would give more cause for shutting down riding areas. I don't understand why people feel the need to post all of the GoPro footage of every ignorant thing they do. This video is viral on the internet right now and people that have never seen a sled or snow for that matter are looking down on the sport.

This whole situation was avoidable and the outcome is discussting. To the comments about not knowing the whole situation or armchair quarterbacking, I don't care if a rabid grizzly bear was chasing the sledder and killing the moose was the only way to spare the life of the three infant babies he was carrying on the back of the sled. It shoud have never been posted on the internet In these situations perseption is reality and the world will judge you based on the facts in the video. Everything in that video suggests there were other ways this could have been handled. It doesn't appear that he looked at any of the available ways around the animal and there were a few. Just because you are carrying a gun doesn't mean you don't have an obilgation to avoid the conflict.

As far as pulling this video off the site, the damage is done, this video is out all over the place. I would rather have people come here and see that the sledding community is not in favor of what happened here.

We have probably run into a dozen moose so far this year and we always stop as soon as we see them and let them get off of the trail. We never push forward and luckily we have never had a problem. Typically we will see tracks long before we see the animal so we are on the lookout for whatever is making the tracks. There were obviously other options available to the guy in the video. What a douche!!!

This should never have happened.
He didn't have to press the situation by creeping closer. She tried to create space but the sledder kept getting closer and closer. IT's his fault.

(however, snowmow, on that floppy mtn-strapped skidoo, remember.....he COULDN'T get off the trail)

Yes I have been there..and without a gun
Moose Wolves Mountain Lion ..Friggin Bison! Yeah even Grizzly Bears ...oh my
1) He could have sat his azz down and watched/waited. ( f*ckin Nancy )
2) He instigated the whole ordeal ( shows intent and purpose )
3) That azzclown and his buddy make US look bad ( wait until this comes up at
next closure meeting where ever..skiers treehuggers love this video )
4) It's like his douche bag buddies taping a rape and laughing until caught.
( why did he post it ? )
5) Chances are he'll never suffer any consequences and the rest of us will
( by association no less ) those witness to it should turn him in ( he won't )
collect any reward and buy a new sled !!
6) Harris Publishing, You Tube etc should offer reward leading to conviction

:mad2: :mad2::rant: He just set the sport back to the dinosaurs

Should be removed from this site and flagged on YouTube. In humane to shoot an animal and leave it there to suffer. Was a small moose anyways, I wish it was a bigger one so it would have stomped on him the first time. Anybody know where this happened? Seen on a Facebook page that it was wyoming, but not proof.
