The Blues - Edition 20/21

Rode bluewood on 2/13. On bluewood side there was at a foot of fresh and 18 inches in some areas. Headed east the snow got thin. If they got 6 inches from Godman east I would be surprised. Great day riding with Drew. Is really sore today. With up to 52 inches predicted by Wednesday it could be wild out there.

Took the drive to Sumpter and run the SS to see where it is at this winter.
We didn't have too bad of road over Tollgate after hearing others went I-84 and two mile long line of semis chaining up and a lot of debris on the road.

One crew chief at the races had everything totally under control.

His crew did all the work and did a great job on the track. He and Janet have great reason to be proud of their granddaughter.

I ended up with a first, a second and a 4th so not as good of record as Kolbie. At least I made it through the turn on the inside somewhere in this group when we jammed into the first corner.

It was a fun day.

Ride Report Cloverland 2/21/21
Road plowed as well as the parking lot but it is a rough ride in! We pulled our enclosed trailer to the parking lot and did not have to chain up.

If you did not ride today you missed a great day. Yeah the trails are not groomed, yeah it snowed all day; yeah it was foggy... but a lot of NEW light snow!!! At the marker just shy of seven feet.

I again had to ride the old XP with 154 track as the girls were on the Experts... ... and I fell off a lot and got stuck, maybe 2, 3, 5, times (oh who is counting)...

1613962361791.png

yeah finally deep blown in snow!!

Sounds like the mountains are a mess for this weekend. Pomeroy bucket run canceled today, highway 204 closed to Tollgate, Bluewood couldn't see through the blowing and drifting snow to groom around the mountainside to Godman so it is going to be a challenge on top, just tips of cabins sticking out of the snow earlier this week. High avalanche danger in effect this weekend. Be careful and Screenshot_20210226-074145_Chrome.jpgsafe everyone. It will clear up and settle.

Ride Report 2/28/21 Cloverland

Saturday was probably better as it was tracked up... trails are blown in... still a fun day with CB8 Lots of snow... 8 feet at the marker... burgers were good, stupid foggy up high, about 5700 feet and below not foggy to sunshine... road is not plowed and too much snow to even try to drive past the Cloverland Edition

a sad note... the dark side has approached my poor granddaughter and spinning his evil web, conned this child into riding the Cat... note the evil smile

later the evil Cat rider following in the tracks of the Doo

Doo coming out of the hole...

1614569316196.png

We did find some untracked...

there was also some attempts at obtaining soil samples... in China...

I have memories of the Alpha that seem different from CB.8. I remember Alpha not wanting to go downhill a year ago.

Nor wanting to follow the snowbike through the seedlings with a little powder.

At least it takes something like a 12 inch tree to stop the Doo yesterday.

After a week in SE Idaho and Northern Utah it was a slow weekend for me. Pomeroy bucket run canceled and highway closed to Tollgate Saturday so Bill and I ran up to Bluewood to check out conditions. Went to Tollgate Saturday afternoon after the road was opened. Way over 8 feet along the highway with Alpha Cat swallowing snow on top.

Went to the avalanche class on Sunday.

Dayton bucket run next Saturday. See you guys there.

Glenn that yamaha might need some viagra.

On another note maybe I won’t be cb.8 for long. Might have to go to the dark side.

The Yami handled the liquid class the best. Here was the heat but it was in position in turn 1 off the line. More dialing in for the final and it won.

I heard you were wanting boost to keep up with the Doo. Man those things sound expensive if sold out in one day.

See you Saturday at the Bucket Run. I have to head out after lunch ands awards to run to Tollgate for evening meeting and move snow.

Rode out of bluewood today. Bluebird day and t shirt weather. Absolutely some of the best spring snow I have ever ridden. Rode not with my normal crew. My brother Craig who I haven’t ridden with since 2014 in McCall and Bill fresh off his knee surgery. Craig was piloting my 2016 cat (sold his turbo pro) Bill was riding his 2018 which wouldn’t go over 45 due to some self induced clutching issue and I was on the single rail. A pack of cats followed some giant wolf tracks today. When we finally stopped we were at Bone Springs warming hut. Yes in Oregon. Great day with great people. 75906359-B2F1-4A54-AAA4-9EC26041A5ED.jpeg1D505CC1-F030-4105-8DD3-0129C9FCCA38.jpegC969AB2E-7075-4F5F-A302-A4FF5885D3E2.jpeg

Fun weekend in Sumpter OR vintage oval racing... I HOPE someone has a photo of Flying W passing Mrs. Plumnuts in turn one... going the wrong way!!! He spun out just as Janet was going by...

Plumnuts Racing did okay over the weekend (it was pretty much all Kolbie, but Grandma got a second place finish behind Kolbie in Women's 440)

Me too. Got off the line a little late but passed into a pocket in the corner but I let up to follow around and then I feel the push and around it went. Not a good sight going backwards and seeing all those sleds coming at me.

Kolbie was very impressive with her performance and composure to win and hold on after the restart in the women's class that she beat Janet in. She will go far. I'm there to have fun.

I did get a couple good starts like the free-air class.

Here was the start of the fan class before the spin.

Then had fun passing after the spin in the fan-cooled. I think I went around 5.
