The Blues - Edition 20/21

Now for the rest of the story. Snow is very thin all the way to Stenz Springs.
3.5 feet at the marker with 8ish inches of fresh on top.
My youngest learned how not to jump drifts in the same place her mom did 20 plus years ago. ?
Great day with the daughters.

Rode out to Tiger Canyon today. About 10 inches new snow out there and nobody there.20201227_162816.jpg20201227_162801.jpg

CB.8 tell your daughter I found a place not to jump also. I think i spent some money on it too. Other side of the tree would have been the road. Nobody drives on the road!

Some of the front suspension is no longer attached and the cage on the bottom side seems to have collapsed down against the brake rotor. It quieted down after a few miles.20201227_162952.jpg

Ride Report 1/1/21 Cloverland
Road to the snow park is not plowed but people towing trailers made it to the park. We parked below.

Trails are not groomed, guessing 4-6 inches of powder new. By the afternoon it is pretty tracked up just about every where. Just below 4 feet of snow at the marker. Several people told me on the Rose Springs side people are driving the Stenz Springs and unloading there as the road is clear.

Riding pardners for the day:

Ride Report 1.2.21
Out of Cloverland, road was blown in, some vehicles made it to the parking lot, most did not and parked down at the sub-division.

Maybe another 4-5 inches of powder snow.. blowing like crazy... no trails are groomed.... other wise GREAT DAY!!!!

New Years day we were treated with decent weather to check out the two feet of powder that Bluewood reported. Got the bike out and the tree didn't appear to be as big and solid when it had lots of snow on it.

Be careful on the roads to the mountain. With all the snow coming down the sand is getting plowed off making very slick roads. Tollgate was closed for a couple hours as they tried to clear a multiple vehicle fender benders. Made for a lot of traffic to visit the store.

In the meantime while the highway was closed20210102_145635.jpg an ambulance was trying to get up the mountain to get a snowbiker that had broken his leg.

Enjoy the snow, be prepared and travel safely. Snow coming down hard for new adventure tomorrow.

Check your pm Plumnuts.

Ride Report 1/3/21 Out of Dayton

Dang getting tired, third day of snowmobiling!! . Road was plowed parking lot was a mess. Snow down low was wet, up on top had a crust... but there were areas of waist deep powder ??

There were a lot of people stuck...

This Polaris guy is actually standing on the seat of his Polaris turbo... yeah we got him out

The new Canadian (Expert 165) was simply awesome!!!! Climbed like crazy and stayed on top of the snow and would side hill!!! (even with the overweight old guy hanging onto the handle bars )

THANK YOU CB8 for the great day!!!!

I am not going to lie, the cat was having a slightly off day just ask he guys on the polaris’s. The new expert is pretty awesome. It will hang with a cat that is giving up an inch of track width and 50ccs. I thought once that Janet was riding with me. I heard a doo barely cresting a hill I just blew over and the driver was swearing like a sailor and then Mike asked “Are you crazy?”

All please be careful, there is a lot more new snow in the forecast that is going to bury this crusty layer. We will have avalanches. Stay off the big hills until things have a chance settle and bond.

Hard to believe CB.8 saying he blew over a hill that a Doo could barely climb. I'm glad that the picture of him stuck was in crusted snow while he was poaching a track. Otherwise he would have been stuck looking for China!

I didn’t see you on the mountain. I am surprised you weren’t on Bills cat with all the crap you have been hitting lately.

CB.8 I run both sides of the mountain. Didn't see you Friday or Saturday. I was enjoying the other side of the mountain Saturday and Sunday. Had snow removal business to tend to.

Sunday morning...

Should be some excellent riding this weekend. I don't think I'm going to Sumpter to the vintage races this weekend unless someone convinces me otherwise.

Ride Report 1/9/21
Out of Cloverland, road is plowed to just before the hill to the snow park... no one is trying to drive to the snow park. Idiots galore parking in the ONLY PLACES to turn around!!! For the idiots, YOU DO NOT PARK in the corner (that is where people turn around, and you don't park at the end of the road as that is WHERE PEOPLE TURN AROUND!!!!)

Weather was great, trails are groomed, a lot of people on the mountain, every thing is tracked up. Just a little under 5 feet at the marker. Hamburgers at the cabin WERE GREAT!!! Rode an early nineties Yamaha Phazer most of the day... OMG am I sore!!! (let rookies ride the Expert and the XM)... Law enforcement is out... Groomer is broken

Ride Report 1/10/21 Out of Cloverland. Everything is pretty tracked up, trails are okay, hamburgers were great as well as the riding companions (CB 8 and family)... Fun Day!!!
