Snowmageden

3500 miles on my 2012. I think this pricing is what just got me interested again in ordering a new cat. I am a die hard cat guy (one of the last left in California) and picked up my 12 from Michelle as a snowcheck. As I see it, saving that 2500 is too hard to pass up. Getting on the phone tomorrow to snowcheck!

I am looking too and struggling on which model. I would want a red and black hardcore 154" with the coil over shocks and the reinforced running boards but, you can't get it in electric start.

The only way I can see to get a 154" with electric start is to buy the silver one without the coil over shocks and the reinforced running boards.

The basic black one is just missing the upgraded shocks and electric start.

I won't get estart till they figure out how to keep the 11.7gal tank . Not going with 10.3 gal tank.... I've put 10.6 gallons in mine...

Good for you, it’s the real deal. What track are you going with?

do you think you need reinforced running boards, are you a really hard rider?
coilovers, reinforced tunnel and ES = Heavy cat. Id get the silver one and add the starter and a can, which makes room for a lightweight battery under the hood, no big seat necessary. Or smaller gas tank..

My bet is if I blindfolded everyone they wouldn't know if it had electric start or not. Guaranteed. Just get the electric start. Alpha is the heaviest sled out there but rides the lightest imo.

This deal has got me considering snow check for the first time ever. Leaning towards the mc 154 because I like the color best out of the 3 and haven't had any issues with floats yet. Also considering e-start, there are just those times it would be nice, plus I'm getting lazy.

So being new to this snow check thing how does it work as far as financing? ( I know, I know, don't finance toys yada yada yada. ) Do you have to get financing when the deposit is made or do you wait until you pick up the sled in the fall?

When you pick it up I believe. I ordered my Mountain Cat yesterday and just paid the deposit. Dealer told me I will get the paperwork in April sometime, but assume I won't have to pay the balance until the sled is delivered.

500 down then has to be paid in full by Oct or 20 days after sleds delivery. Which ever is later. You dont need to apply for financing until after your sled is delivered.

great price but its certainly going to have add ons. also begs the question what happens to 2019 alphas sitting at the dealers now in the retail range of 14k ish range before dealer mark downs? I got the rebate on my 19 alpha so I was at 12600 plus add ons.

Its certainly got to be tough to be a dealer these days.

as for the new sales model they are using, from a business perspective it makes perfect sense...too much inventory is never good. my understanding is that a dealer borrows money to purchase inventory so at a minimum owes interest on that...in addition to lost profit as the sleds age sitting around and then are eventually discounted to near cost.

Wow!! I am pleasantly surprised with the new pricing. As we all know these sleds are not cheap but kudos to Arctic Cat for kick starting the price war. In my area in the last couple years, you can pick up a new Polaris for thousands off MSRP. Unless you wait till this time of year, a current Arctic Cat fetches a premium. I am tempted to snow check an alpha but will probably pass this year. I am sure there will be a few people losing their $500 deposits and therefore should be a few sitting at dealerships looking for a new home in the fall. BTW, I own 5 sleds, two of which are 2018’s and I am not worried about resale values dropping. I think this new sales approach is a great move.
