Parking is now 30 dollars for a year pass. Supposedly no overnite parking in the lots, it covers all winter parking areas accept wycolo lodge which I believe they charge themselves. Lots covered are:Tie City, Happy Jack, Summit, Green Rock, Corner Mountain, Little Laramie, Albany, Chimney Park, Tic's, Mountain Home, Lake Owen and Sugarloaf Recreation Area.
For summer it covers the boat ramps at Lake Owen and Rob Roy, and the picnic grounds of Vedauwoo, Blair, Wallis, Fir, Libby and Lewis Lakes, Green Rock, and Barber Lake. It does state that if overnite parking, the usual campground fee for overnite stays must be paid, the annual MBR DayUse pass (which is what you are purchasing for 30 dollars) cannot be used in lieu of campground fees.

p.s. This all was takin right out of the daypass pamphlet that I recieved when I picked up my own pass from the FS in Laramie at the junction of snowy range road and Hwy. 130.

I may be in the wrong spot but here goes. I heard that the DNR was going to charge for parking in all parking lots. Then I heard it was only Albany. When does this go into effect? Is it just for trailers left over nite? What is the fee? I am coming out from Iowa but just for 2 days at the end of Dec.

I am guessing the Daily fee is going to be about 5 bucks which can be taken care of at the fee station. Trailers left overnight? I am guessing they better have the sticker in the morning, but where are you going to put it?? It hasn't taken effect yet, but probably will be soon.

I'm sorry all, forgot to answer the question about daily rates. The daily parking rate is 5.00 per day. Not that I agreed with the paid parking, but as much time as I spend up there, it will be well worth my 30 bucks. Hope all have a great time here in the Snowy Range, and track it up!!

My brother and I might be up tomorrow.
My sled is still in pieces and waiting for parts, so I'll be on the old stand-by sled. Hope the wind on the summit isn't to bad.

post whoring:D
gotta get my post count back up. lost 6k.
PM Admin and get it back :p

Just got back from the Albany lot, colder then a witches tit up there, way below zero. I froze my feet and my riding partner got a minor case of frostbite on his cheek.

Snow is crap, was maybe 2" of fresh snow from the C-T intersection to the T-Q intersection. The trails were packed out and moguled up like you wouldn't believe, hadn't been groomed since tuesday. The groomer was fired up and getting ready to head out when we loaded up around 6pm, so they will be in good shape for tomorrow.

We might be taking the day off of riding tomorrow to find some better gloves for me and a breath box for Corey so he won't get frostbite on his cheeks again. Then again, might be hitting the parking lot ~ 10am.

Will upload the two pictures we snapped before the cold got to the batts and the camera died after get back from food.

Looks like there is going to be a group of us (4-5) that are going to be headed out for the 2nd to the 4th. I was wondering what are the number for good places to stay that have rentals and what each one rents.

anyway, pics from today:

Any daylight pics???
we weren't out in the daylight. Aren't out right now because its -13° here in Laramie which means its going to be frigid up on the hill.

and is there enough snow to "explore"??? Like to get to the good climbs???
Its starting to set up good. I did a bunch of lines down through the trees that just a week ago weren't possible. Wound up tapping a few stumps in spots where two weeks ago would have totaled the sled in the same area. Starting to see many many more tracks of people leaving the road to go exploring.

Went up today.
COLD
Did a bunch of exploring today. Still a little soft in the trees but if you are carful, it can be done.
