Snowies

Glad to hear people are still hitting rocks and such (kidding) just because my knee isn't up to speed yet after surgery. Otherwise I'd be out there hittin stuff with the rest of you lucky dogs.

The East side definitely has it's good points and bad. I always manage to find untouched snow about everywhere I go, and that sometimes includes going though some skimpy spots to get there.

Planning to go out the last weekend in Dec (like everyone else it seems).

We will arrive on new years night and be riding for 4 days if anyone would be willing to show us around. Staying at willow creek condos/cabins.

luvthe - tracksvs and I are in the same group as you can tell and we are taking a couple rookies as well but thats how it goes sometimes (their money puts gas in that tank just the same) so we may not get real buckwild the first day either. We ride where ever the weather allows, meaning if its real windy we will go down to Albany and ride from there or up north if its clear.

Tracksvs - as for the "we" comment I also used "OUR" as in I was part of the "GROUP" and if you would like to pay for that gas my old dodge would burn in large amounts we can sure roll like that.

a group of us wants to go to the snowies next friday. but is the snow going to be worth the 12 hour trip? right now it looks good but it looks like it's supposed to warm up and not much snow is predicted for next week.

It's always a crap shoot on where the snow will be good or not.
I always figure if I am riding, it's good.
There has not been a lot of off trail boondocking. It is just now starting to really set up and make it possible to go off thru the trees without sinking to your windshield and hitting the ground.

Planning on going up Saturday. This will be the first chance this year. They are calling for more snow on Thursday night and Friday. Day Weather Service shows 30" since Dec 1st in the Keystone area.
Are they seeding the clouds this year?

Are they seeding the clouds this year?

It looks like it - the ground based seeder that we found last year was in place when we were up there elk hunting in October. I didn't ride by it last weekend, but I am assuming it is still there and working. If I ride this weekend, I'll swing by and take a look.

Tony, are you thinking of riding this weekend.

:D you have no idea :)

Going to try and make it up there friday afternoon if at all possibly to check conditions before getting the newbie up there.

oh come one. Have a little fun.
Take the noob out and drop them in a field. They will learn quick that way.:D

Told a guy I would take him out and teach him everything I knew about mountain riding, but after that 30 seconds was over he was on his own.

I know one of the guys working on the seeding project, and yes they are still doing it this year. Don't know if it's helping or not, but more snow on the way. Forecast has changed frequently, but I've heard anything from 2-8 inches here in town.

Only one more sleep and I will be in Laramie. Ollie or Sup, have you guys had to pay at Albany yet? We are going to ride out of Greenrock as long as the wind isnt blowing too hard, otherwise we will be going to Albany. Taking the sled out on its maiden voyage. Its been a long 9 months. I got plenty of belts and really big gloves just in case ha ha ha.

Maybe come across some of you guys up there.

Haven't had to yet, last I heard was the 1st of the year is when you have to start paying. I'll be going in ASAP to get my annual pass.

Me and my group will be breaking a guy in on the trails, he's renting this trip to see if its somethign he wants to do. Will be spending most of our time just south of where W connects with T.
