Please understand that as moderators we are volunteering our valuable time to you. We try to help make this forum the best snowmobile forum on the planet!! Which sometimes means deleting posts and doing things that not everyone agrees with. Please respect that these threads can be read by thousands of people and not everyone wants to see hostility or personal attacks. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Even on forums you are making impressions on people all over the world. Which is unfortunately why moderators are needed.

If there is something we are doing wrong or something you would like to see changed. You have every opportunity to PM us and let us know. Most of you know that if there is something I can do to help out I will. Things won't magically change if you never voice your concerns. And we will listen and help or pass on the information to make better decisions.

Christopher nor Snowest is out to get anybody. They are truly trying to help make this site better. The details will be along shortly, but some of you are creating your own scenario already. Getting upset is really not justified at this point. We know there will be questions along the way and we want to address as many as we can right away.

This site has so many good things to offer. So, why waste your time being upset on here? Especially about nothing more than rumors. There is probably some cool stuff going on over in the IQ forum.

I'm not crazy about a pay site, if indeed that is going to happen ( We don't have that info yet). But I highly dought that SW has forgot who makes this site, (Yes the members). I myself will be waiting for an answer to our questions. I hope that they are answered some because this topic is getting worse than the topic of Chris B switching to polaris.

Trying to build an empire and a paycheck for himself and create a new SnoWest forum that creates a profit for Harris Publishing on a promise he could do it for them.
If the forum loses it's longstanding members, he loses his bet AND his paycheck.

Do not forget...The thing that makes SnoWest special is the members.
The caring input during a tragedy...
The kind words from a huge extended family during very trying times...
The charitable donations when a child of a member or even their friend's child who is sick and the family needs help...
The guy who injures himself in a sled wreck and ALL the folks who jump in to provide help and even parts to get him back out doing what he loves...
The outpouring of offers to immediately drop what we're doing to drag our sleds up into the mountains to help search for someone we've never met before because they're lost...
I've always bragged about this site and it's members as a huge group of very good, like minded people who will come together at a moment's notice to help out anyone who truly needs it.
It's just not going to be the same without the old crowd that will leave on principle alone.

You drive away the members and you have nothing including the advertisers and their money.

I said it earlier in this thread and I'll say it again...
Most of us were willing to pay for use of this site a while back before Christopher Mucked it all up and slowed it to a crawl.
Not any more.

I know a lot of people including myself spend a lot of time helping people out on here. I bet 75% of my pm's and posts are answering peoples questions and helping out with technical and tuning issues. I enjoy helping because I needed help along the way. But if I have to pay to help people out, that's not going to happen. And I gaurantee the vast majority of people who contribute on here in this way won't either. To many changes going on, to many posts getting deleted, and to top it off with making us pay to help people out will be the end of SW.

I got a PM from one of the Mods today explaining why my post was deleted and one of the things mentioned in the PM was that the "Leaked" note from Christopher was very old and much had changed since the discussion and subsequent note about SnoWest being converted into a pay site.
Well then please explain why he mentions in the deleted note that he would be ordering the 2 new servers that night as cut and pasted below and hi-lited and then has started a new Thread called NEW SERVERS where he is talking about ordering the servers posted just YESTERDAY???

The following are all his words...Not mine.

5. Do we get the new Servers & Software ?
Yes. We have a full budget, and I plan on ordering the 2 new servers tonight.
As soon as they arrive we will begin configuration and then move the site over onto them.
I will not know how long this will take till we hear back from Dell on a delivery date.

SNOWEST FORUMS: New Servers !!
I just got off the phone with Dell Computers, and I wanted to let all the members of SnoWest know that our long awaited High Speed Data servers are now on the production line and being built for us.

They told me we should have them here in Idaho Falls on or before December 3rd, 23 days from today. He thought in all likely hood we may see them a few days sooner if all goes well.

Once installed ALL speed / performance related issues on SnoWest will be permanently resolved!!

As production updates arrive I will update this thread with further information.
Yeah...Me thinks there is something foul afoot.

People need to quit being tight @ss's. First off a small fee would weed out some of the people here, that just talk sh!t with nothing really to say. Secondly, I know I've sold every sled and trailer, that I've every put up for sale on this sight, so to me that's worth something. Can't see how a small donation or fee for the year, is going to break the bank with folks. I'm sure running a site of this megnitude isn't cheap. With a subcription to the SW magazine, for the subcription fee you get a magazine. Why should SW be out of pocket $$$ to provide a free site, if their losing money? Seems like common business sense to take donations or charge a small fee for the up keep to run this site. If it cost me ten bucks for the year and I sell my sled on here for 12K like I have the last few years, big f#ck!ng deal.............

If all we were talking about is paying a little money, you're right it wouldn't be a big deal.

Its all the other BS that has taken place that is the problem.

We have mods deleting posts for no reason other than they see fit, there is a policy about what can and can't be said or posted here that has been completely ignored.

And did you not notice, we had no speed issues till all the new crap was shoved down our throats.
