Snowest becoming a PAY SITE?????

Are you not reading what I have already posted??? I could care less what you are a member of. The point that I am trying to make is I have a problem with Snowest Moderators becoming members of another site that was created to compete or "get back" at Snowest. So you and other moderators that have joined that site are only playing into their hands because of your disloyalty to Snowest.

This was all started because of this rumor that Snowest will be making some changes.....now everyone is saying to go over to BCR. You and the other Moderators are not showing support to Snowest because of your jumping ship over to BCR. I don't care how you want to view it, THAT IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST! The best thing that you disloyal moderators should do is step down as moderators of Snowest if you want to be members of BCR.

I hope you "got it" this time, I don't know how I can spell it out any simpler for you.

Holy crap, it's just a website people. If you don't want to pay just leave, it's as simple as that. When you got your cable TV, did the company promise you free HBO until the end of time? No, just because you paid for their service doesn't mean you're entitled to every channel they offer, there are tiers. I would imagine this subscription thing for the forums (if it does become a paysite) will be much the same. People who don't want to pay won't have full access, or won't be able to have avatars, or something to that effect.

Regardless of what you think, this is snowest's forum. Without snowest magazine this forum wouldn't exist. The "it should be free because I pay for my magazine subscription" argument might make you feel better, but it's up to snowest whether this stays free or not.

There's plenty of other snowmobile websites out there, and when BCR or any of these other sites gets to the number of users and uses as much bandwidth (max thread anyone?) as snowest, wait and see if their still free. My guess is no they will not be.

I just read the announcement and have changed my mind about paying to use the forum. It sounds like some big improvements and I would be willing to pay $10 a year to have access to these features. Thanks for the info.

Real nice, if you mention a certain new forum in your posts they get changed to Snowest. What brilliant mind came up with this......seems that some are trying to lose membership and P iss people off so they won't pay for either the subscription or the mag.

I wonder if it is the same Mods that jumped ship and now are Members over at B A C K C O U N T R Y R E B E L S. That is why I made my posts in the General area. I think it is BS for snowest mods to become members of that site, considering the reasons why that site was started. They need to step down as mods here.

If you'd like to advertise for other snowmobiling sites, we'd be delighted to work out some sort of fee structure that would allow you to do this -- the same way our other sponsors pay for ads to have traffic directed to their sites.

Speaking in general terms here....If a moderator is acting poorly for any website they volunteer to work for, then ...maybe it speaks to the credibility of the moderator and not neccesarily the website they moderate for???????
