nosnow's from fastlaneinc, these work the best. plastic is the ONLY way to go. some of my buds have the aluminum ones, and yes one set is powdercoated, and they still have to be kicked out and ice builds up one them. the nosnows NEVER build snow no matter how deep or wet. my buds with the aluminum ones all wish they had the plastic.

The problem I see with the plastic is:
1) No grip
2) It sits above the bar allowing the foot to slide off the board
