2003.5 1M 900 Running board replacement

I have a 2003.5 1M 900, the outside edge of the running boards keeps cracking. I modified some Pin'd inserts and installed them, but the boards just keep cracking. Some older posts here show complete replacement of the running boards. Can anyone recommend a modern set of boards (not inserts) that I could modify to fit this tunnel? Maybe someone has solved this problem already... Hopefully I can limp the current boards through this season. At least they stay clear of snow now with the inserts added!

You might want to get in touch with Van Amburg Enterprises and see if they have a pattern for boards for that sled. Their website is down, but there's a post on their Facebook page from last year that says they are still open.
 
I did this to my 2001 mc 800 just before i sold it in February, not sure what they went to originally but it was not too big of a deal to "make them fit". There is plenty of meat on those older sleds that you can just hack the boards off (keep the skid rear mounts intact) and rivet some on, lots of used boards out there and i bet some meant for a newer sled will do fine.

Those look like Fabcraft boards to me... The original no-sno running boards
 
Thanks for the advice and photos. I will google around for some used running boards and look into Van Amburg, I had seen that name in older posts for these sleds. Hopefully I can find a good deal on some used boards and have a summer/fall project!
