Deep Powder @ Cisco

So did anyone besides us get out to ride the BEST powder of the year????I sure hope so because it was gooooooooooooooooooooooood. Lots of stucks but could still get around OK. I want to thank Rick (Cisco Kid) for leading today. It is so nice not to lead.

The bad part is we had a sled die on us out there today.

Silvertip..

Whos 900 is that? Is it under warranty?

Scott may have a crank to get rid of.

Todd already has a crank and case coming from Wash. I think. And he has already ordered every thing else he need from Bill @ adrenaline. But thanks for telling me.

Great Ride out of Cisco 11 Jan

I rode with Greg today out of Cisco. We were the first and only sled to go out of Cisco. The trail was groomed last night and was as smooth as could be on our way back in also. If you didn't ride Wed. or today you missed out on the best riding so far this year. It rain up to about 7500 ft yesterday so all our soft powder was gone down low. But above the rain line it was still snow in the trees and nice powder. Not good just nice. Still could get stuck eazy if you tried.

Greg Against Tree - Greg found a little traction device under the snow and it launched him into this little tree. Knocked some little limbs off but didn't hit the tree.

Silvertip...where did you ride this weekend?
We rode out of Kingvale to Grouse. Got the chute on the far left of Sanford :D You need to show that one to Oberti (see google earth image). Put some tracks in Hourglass and climbed out of the Black Buttes..up the "gut". Got a bunch of other chutes..don't know their names?? What an awesome day of riding. Thank you for leaving all the good chutes for us to put tracks in!!!

See you this weekend.

Man, we weren't that far from you today Jason. Sounds like you got the first lines of the year on some of those. we heard some guys climbed out of Glacier on the far right...how was it on top? How wide was it going out of Sanford to the left??? Imagine it was tight!!! Tonysno and myself found ourselves at the top of Cave Lake after climbing out the chute....and niether of us really wanted to go back down;) Don't think there are any pics of it...next weekend is going to be fun!!

Almost called you this morning.
It was great at the top...isn't it always?? Not sure if I would call that far right...pretty much right up the middle, just to the left of the "nose" rock in the middle. There is another chute further to the right. I thought it was doable, but the cornice left a very small section to get through almost against the rocks.
Not sure which one is Cave Lake?
Sanford on the left is very tight. You can barely turn a sled around if you get stuck. To be honest it is a little deceiving. The chute looks a lot steeper than it is.

Hmmm, I'm not sure then which chute that is at Glacier...any pics?
As for the Sanford climb...I am surprised you could turn a sled around in there. I figured it was barely wide enough for a sled to go through. I walked down it 2 summers ago just to check it out and it seemed tight, but once it drifts in there no telling. Awesome pull non-the-less. I am surprised you say it is deceiving though, it sure looks steep as he_l from the lake!!!!

I had a buddy get stuck in there last year near the top. When we turned him around the front skis were on rocks and the rear bumber was also. He tried again and got stuck further down and we had to back the sled down (not wide enough).
As far as Glacier chute....I didn't get any pics. I always forget, having too much fun. Here is another google earth image. We just need to get out and ride together.

Yes

Hmmmm, that doesn't look like Glacier to me. I am little confused on that one. Sure that is right?

You are looking over the lake. It is at the bottom with the little chute coming down by the rockie bluff on the center left. Too the right of the little patch of snow in the center left if where Jerad got stuck 3 yrs. ago in the deep powder and you walked up to help him get out.

Very nice of you to do that
