Gmustang would you make a list of all the the little extra parts that you needed to install the kit? Stuff you bought that was either necessary or helpful to the install. I have read through the thread but It would help if it was all in one spot. Also, people could add to your list things that they used. Thanks in advance. Was there any tools that you also bought or are special that are needed for the install.

so

So I bent one of the tabs on my return line because I bought a cheep Napa removal tool then I dumped most of the coolent out of my throttle body right down the reed cage then and had it stuck and ended up bending the oiler arm on the pump. Things are going great! I still can't figure out how to get that stupid oil linkage off of the throttle body? Do you just pry and it pops off? I really don't want to break any more piddly parts

neat

It does just pop off or at least it did.
So is anybody else seeing wear on the two inner crank lobes? This sled has 480 miles

11vs12

Is the 2012 turbo mounted higher than the 2011? My 2011 doesn't line up at all and is way too close to the hoses?????

No they are the same . I finished an install on a 2011 last night and trust me, If its together right it all fits fine. Just pay special attention to anything that could rub and protect it.

wel i better get to the hardware store then. to make it work im going to need six 45 degree elbows for the big coolent lines. if i push them far enough down they hit the jackshaft othewise they are resting on the charge side of the turbo. its gonig to look pretty bad with all the hose clamps though

if I understand you correctly are you asking does the 2011 silber turbo kit sit higher then the 2012 silber kit? Or are you asking does the silber turbo kit fit different in a 2011 PRO vs a 2012 PRO?

not sure

i dont know what im really asking? it just dosnt seem to line up? the charge side of the turbo sits about 1.5 inches higher than the intake of the air box so that 90 degree hose when connected will make an s bend?
and if i were to take out the rubber to get it to sit on the bracket lower it takes even more room out for the coolent hoses?
i need to splice the coolent hoses to get them away from the turbo and maby buy some flex tube for the charge side?
oh and what are you guys dong with the billet knob adjuster thing thats hanging off of the turbo assembly? zip tying it where it is is rather close to the brake?

joshkoltes, what you are describing is pretty much exactly how mine fits. The 90* rubber intake tube isn't quit right. You can move things around a bit to get it to fit a little better, but the angles aren't perfect. I'm calling it good enough, but not perfect by any means.
As for the coolant lines, that's exactly the way mine are too. I just put a whole bunch of convolated wire loom on it, zip tie it up off the jackshaft & I am just letting mine rest against the compressor housing, hopefully the wire loom will keep it from rubbing through. I'm definately gonna monitor it closely though.

exactly what i needed to hear! thanks, so the compressor dosnt get very hot? i figured the heat transferred over from the other side and will melt the hose?
i want to put a exhaust spring mount under the hose on the tunnel to zip tie it down but need to fab a little cover over the jackshaft if i do.
how about the crank pics do they look normal fro a pro? i have never had one with lobe wear?

I wouldn't let it rest against your compressor side of the turbo. They both get hot. The compressor side not as hot, but still too hot to touch. May need to look at routing it a bit better. Zip ty's are your friend.

I just cut 3/4 inch off the upper hose at the head. Then it spaces it off the turbo.

Hmm lets see i dont have a ton of things in my head right now but ill start;

- rubber plumbing washers
- Fuel line release tool
- good pair of snap ring pliers for changing secondary spring

and i would HIGHLY recomend buying a bunch of the plastic hose protector in the pic below. its so cheap and will prevent hoses rubbing through.

If i was to due my turbo again i would put this stuff top to bottom on all my lines! You can buy it in all sizes for the different sized lines.
So for those who havnt installed theres yet something to think about.
I just spent some time going through my sled putting this stuff on where it was rubbing or even where i "thought" it would rub... highly recomend.

How close is your recoil rope to the compressor side of the turbo? mine is less than 1/4" and I'm a bit worried it may melt through enough to break.
