Silber Install Tips

The head of the bolt that holds the airbox to the billet intake boots. the head of the bolt will touch the Bulkhead as the motor Torque twists under boost. thus setting off the DET sensor.

How much head should there be left after grinding? Eighth, sixteenth?

For the charge tube I slide it completely onto the airbox and clamp it. Then it easy to get it over the turbo outlet.

I just lop off 1 corner and make sure that part faces down. Still in the same spot after 100 miles and 3 weekends.

I thought that bolt was supposed to be dang near loose? Surprised it doesn't spin? How tight then? Just as soon as the aluminum spacer tube contacts both sides, stop?

I tightened those bolts until the spacers started to feel some resistance when trying to rotate Them . It appears that these are just to maintain spacing rather than attachment

We tighten them until they just barley touch the oring.

should i throw some silicon on the tube so it dosnt jingle jangle all day long?

my kit didnt come with the washers as stated in the instructions should i have went and bought some?

the clutch is said to be shimmed to .015- .020, the shim sent to me is .055. is it a heat and peel shim?

the c

Washers are not used on the newest kits.

Thanks

The .055" washer goes in behind the grafoil ring on the pipe th keep it from extruding

They are talking about the rubber grommets that were used on the 11 throttle body bolts.

The washer you are referring to is to prevent the exhaust donut from blowing out.

I did notice when I was putting on the charge tube the compressor housing would rotate a little when I really got torquing on the hose. What should the housing bolts be torqued to? It took quite a bit when it accidentally rotated but I still would like to check them
It wouldn't hurt you to loosen off all the bolts holding on the hot side and rotate it a little clockwise. It'll get the outlet lower and lined up a little better. Just make sure you adjust the wastegate arm properly after u rotate the housing and torque those bolts back down to spec. Hope this helps[/QUOTE]

Its not in the instruction because it was a last minute fix for the donut blowing. It goes behind the donut to support the back of it to prevent it from pushing out around the edges.

ok thanks, so just to be clear: we are putting it in the connection between the pipe and turbo, on the pipe side of the connection(the flat side of the donut).

Installed silber on 2012 pro , bench tested oiler with battery and no go. redid the wiring and pump works fine. Just something to look for

o2

I can't find the plug that the o2 gauge plugs into?? Other than the obvious sensor itself and its ten frigging feet of cord, the single fused wire with round connector, the two little four wire "in out" plugs that probably don't go anywhere, then there is the one in question just further down from the single. Its a two wire

Did the wrong plug get put on this? I have three other different style plugs available
