SHR880 Challenge - bring it.

You can go to BCR and the same thread is posted there. A lot less action tho. Won't be derailed as easily. Or replied to at all actually....

Are you coming to this?

No go mini....I wish but I am flat out with work this winter and only have 12 miles on my sled so far this year....one crappy ride in chitty snow.

But I am trying to set up our own BB shootout at the Canadian Forum Ride in Sicamous/Revy in March 7,8,9......come on up and bring Swerv and his collection of BB. Not sure what is going to be there, but if I am the only one then 872 rules.....hahahahaha !!!!!!

That's the problem. Slim said the distances he's willing to travel and also where he'll be riding, only Kevinm7 and some of his buddies have been up to the challenge. Even then, he has not been challenging Slim. By what I've read, it's just a good old fashioned get together to see how things stack up. Kevin's motor is still new, so that is not really a fair comparison. A sled that has not had some miles and setup adjustments is most likely not going to be in the same league. I'd say looking just at his clutch setup, a good running stocker is going to beat his sled (just kidding, Kevinm7, wanting start a little trash talk just in case I make it down there at the end of February.)

Oh, and my dad can beat up on everyone else's dad. The 880 belongs to him. I just wrench on it and use it as my backup sled.:face-icon-small-hap

FWIW those bashing Thayne have no idea what the riding is like in the area, I guess that's a good thing, lets keep it that way. The events are in town but the riding is not. Second I have been DQ'd by the lord of this thread already since I have a 3" track so keep calling people out and DQing them in the same breath. For hells sake people someone just get out your gopro when your hill humping that "one" mtn in island park and get it over with...besides all the selective qualifications.
Do us a favor builders and video a dyno test since it is really all about the "motors" production and then the motor debate is settled, what people do to there sleds after that can be pretty circumstantial, debatable and subjective (=no real winner). This thread is almost as bad as the broken (insert part here) on my PRO threads over on the dark side. Baring a ridiculous rebuttal by the chief I am out! oh and btw big john makes awesome stuff, just sick of this bull**** thread.

I keep forgetting about the 3" thing that was mentioned. I would not be afraid to run 880 against 3". It seems you can tell the difference the track makes most of the time. Hell, my buddy beat my turbo on a hill before w/ his track. Not fooling anyone, if they thought it was all motor. Right conditions and 3" is better, but not all of the time. I personally would like to see a couple of the bigger tracks in the mix.

Totally agree!! I also believe in the dyno running the engines! To many variables in doing a on the hill thing.
Besides I don't know what the snowpack is this there, but if it's the same as canada right now highmarking is not the smartest thing to be doing.

Hey now, that's not nice haha. It's a starting point. I have a few cards, or springs, up my sleeve haha. I will have some good miles on my sled by the time we meet up but I don't expect it to be "dialed" by any means, but close. Hopefully anyway...

Thayne = Big Balls
Island Park = Small Balls

Oh I think the secrets out on Thayne... Been up there twice this yr and a few times last yr, and it has been tracked up bad... There are a few areas around alpine that don't get any traffic, but for good reason, very difficult to get to
