SHR880 Challenge - bring it.

This has been quite a read.

the primary thing wont work.

ie mine makes gobs of torque at 7900. buddy with almost identical engine but diff pipes spins at 8400. less tq but 5-6 more hp.

lots of tq and lower rpm = more pin weight. as rpms go up you need less.

plus on twin pipes you gotta know what youre doing to make it rev quick and get to the power. load it too much in the mid and you have a slug.

Is there a date and place set yet? What kind of race is it flat land or deep powder hill climb or best sled all out for the day. Not sure what kind of best of what you are looking for. We go deep into the mountians in Revy ride hard in deep and steep very easy to see who is king. Not sure what the game is here for a true Mountian sled engine??
What we run is big track big engine big pull short or long all day and no problems = 872 !

Maybe this should be between Dave, Kelsey and john, there sled there setup, as clutching and gearing are key to the performance of each sled as
is chassis setup

Have talked to all three of these guys on the phone and would have to say that if Daves was the slowest of the bunch that is what I would run, not once has there been arrogance or bad mouthing the other two, cant say that for the other two.

This year I went back to a 14 600 XM and can say that it put more fun back in riding and it removes you from the grown man pissing contest

The other guys know where Dave's motor are....Event after event after event Dave's motors are there. By there own choice the other guys choose to not show up to any of these events.

So when is this little show? And where? I'd like to come with a couple sleds to throw in the fray

1st weekend in March... Already took the time off, so I will be there.... Looking like West Yellowstone area... I would prefer Bedford, Alpine but West seems more central for people

I've seen this 880 of big johns run it runs good it would out run my race gas 8 turbo by 5 sled lengths but my 872 will smoke my 8 by 12 to 15 length s so I know that 872 will smoke big johns 880 that's my two cents

There's several really good tuners who live or used to live down in southern colorado... Saw their 800s outrun lots of turbos and big bores over years and seen them dominate the races...above 9k their stuff is class of the field. It's another game when you start dialing a sled for 10k plus IMO..

Ill call you out and put five big bones on the table that my 872 will smoke that 880 I've ran against your 880 it runs good but its not that fast so your calling people out lets put some skin on the table what you say you pick the hill steep and deep or flat lake race I dont care the balls in your court let me know
