SHR880 Challenge - bring it.

although im not a s**t talker about these engines, Im in! but i am 6'4"/260(in my bikini) any takers? we will need to tie some weights to slim to even the odds. lol!...... i have another unfair disatvantage tho, i have tall bars! By all rights, (they say), this could slow my track speed down! we will need to raise his bars, and make him as beautiful as myself! Fair is fair! just sayin'

In the end when you all actually meet you will find they are all a great bunch and passionate about riding, Wish i could be there, Bring beer and finish out a great day regardless how she ends,Jus because you ride a particular brand now dosnt mean you next build wont be influenced over the results,,,,Hell how bout them Poo,s and Cats,They know bout this?

First race was mine against the other Cat. Being a non-sanctioned event, my boy snuck his Polaris 120/212 past tech inspection, I thought pushing may help bring home another victory. Not even close.

The two winners of the 900 mod and 1000 mod. Madmini's SHR 860 and my old man's SHR 880. Also a pic of mini's 872. No one is going to be even close if he hits the happy gas w/ the 3'' track.

Sled Head Racing, i see that you balance cranks as well as clutches do you do this in house ? I used to do this on my SC and XP and it help considerable back when the TRA had issues. Since the XM clutching is superior to SC and XP balancing might not even be an issue. What your thoughts and how much do you charge. There used to be a machine shop in Utah that used to this but I don't believe there around anymore.

I "true" every crank before any assembly...actual "balancing" hasn't proven reliable or worth the money (race applications are diff)...taking a production motor and simply trueing the crank too .000" and do my LW/balance mod to the TRA makes for a smooth motor, longer engine/clutch life and the clutch runs cooler...I have more fingers on my left hand then "true" cranks from DOO, be it their rebuilt units or new...BJ

I agree with you on this . In the past on my SC and XP balancing/truing proved to be a worthy investment. Are you finding that the 2014's are just as out of whack as the 2005 through 2010 models or has skidoo done a better job in there production with tolerance of the crank and clutch on the 2014 XM ? I have over 700 miles on my XM now and the clutch faces are clean and the belt still looks good which as you know was not the case with older model skidoos.

Rode a snow bike for the 1st today in spring like conditions here in Revy looked at my XM completely differently after about 30 minutes on the snow bike.

Hey mini. It's sounding like we are shooting for February 26-March 2 in the West/IP area. Scratley is game to head up from the SLC area and I guess Slim has a cabin in IP. Of course you are welcome to come. The more the merrier!! It will be a good time for everyone.... Even though it's not sanctioned and we won't have tech inspections  *insert sarcasm here*

kevin, I like your style and look forward to meeting.

Pretty sure I can make this time slot, but I have no "cabin" other than my log home LOL. We can make about anywhere in the area.

non denominational sledder here.

why are the doo faithful the most, slam others out there?

when you ride all brands and just consider these machines, machines, it is funny to see. Not only do the doo faithful bash other brands more than they should, they bash each other. I don't get it. just go ride and have fun.

let the riding do the talking.

Haha. Well I was told it's a cabin. Either way you get to live in a beautiful place. I'm mildly jealous haha.

I look forward to meeting as well. If we can't all make this time slot work them I'm sure I can make another weekend work out as well.

That's exactly what we are doing. The riding from this little "get together" will do the talking instead of people being internet tough guys.

All do respect this so called arranged call out, this has to many uncontrolled variables to make this fair. If this is is a true engine shoot out, than the sled setup should have the same clutching, same unbiased rider, gearing etc, maybe a radar gun with a target on the riders back to get some speed numbers. OR Take your sleds to a dyno on the same day and get no BS numbers. Other than that I see this being a waste of time.

X2. I'm going to show up just to watch, because it will be fun. But the winner will be the flyweight guy with the best setup. Best engine doesn't guarantee a win. I've seen so many better sleds get a ragged hole stomped in them by one thats lesser, but is really setup right.
