I see the 880 is about $800 more, what's different? Is it $100 per sled length?

Good Grief you have to be kidding me...Dude, do you honestly believe a BB goes as long as a stocker does before requiring a new top end ? I suggest you ask anyone who owns a big bore at around 1500 miles the compression on the mag side, pto, side or both sides drop requiring a new top end. No big deal just part of owning a BB.

I'm wondering the same about you're statements...I don't just believe sir, I see it with my own eyes. You and turbo Jamie would get along great...you can be all like and he can be like
I mean seriously, what is causing the top end to wear faster?
Oh, I know plenty of folks on bb's with nothing but satisfaction...Which is exactly why I have one.
Inferior Pistons, Inferior Rings, Inferior Honing & inferior tolerance are just a few reason a BB looses compression faster than a stocker..I don't know of any BB with high mileage over 1500 plus miles that has not lost compression on either the PTO or Mag side. In fact I'm willing to bet most guys on this thread & website don't even check there compression let alone know how.....Are you trying to say a BB maintains it's compression longer than a Stocker ?
FYI, new sleds these days come with 3 to 4 year engine warranties. Do you think SHR will offer a 3 to 4 year warranty on his BB ? Do you think the factory will honor there warranty with an SHR BB ? Your investment not mine.

dam everybody have there hip waders on the **** getting deep on this 880 to start off the 880 runs really dam good awsome build!! first off big john for the record my buddy went over the top with a iqr 121 race sled 600 so the hill was climbable for dam near any sled if a 600 121 can climb it. now that being said lets get to bussness i think both 880 and 872 are awsome bb both run really good first off snow condtions 880163 vs 872154,880 timber skid vs 872stock skid, 880belt drive vs 872chain, 880 light wieght oil delete headlight delete running boards light weight bad *** light weight sled, 872 all stock oil tanks headlight ect gearing of the 880, to 18 51 on the 872 different type of riding different gearing easyest way to float your boat big john and see witch ones the best. same sled same parts same everything minus motor cant campare apples to bannas and think your the best id i hope the 880 and the 872 would smoke one ton stock 1100 have to fiqure 1100 178 ponys and almost 700 pounds light weight xp 400 420 you guys claim 175 180 ponys weight to horse power both should of smoked that 1100 because stock sled running 5 lbs boost will smoke a stock 1100 oh and the smell of little race gas out of the 880 or was that gifted oil lol i think both bb builders build great!!!!: and in the video looked pretty close on take off
I stopped trying to talk sense into him on page 3, he has no hope lol
BTW DPG show me a stock mountain sled, not a four stroke, that has been ridden in the mountains, pushing the limits for 3500 miles with no rebuild, and I'll show you a liar.
Dude, Joel at Togwotte Mountain Lodge has fleet of 2stroke 2014 Polaris, Cat & XM's rental mountain sleds that have 3000 to 7000 miles on them in 1 season that don't need rebuilt and the compression is spot on..Here's his #307-699-4983 for all you non-believers.
David, at Two Top rental sleds has a fleet of 2014 mountain sleds with over 3000 to 4000 miles in 1 season. All you non believers can call him 406-646-7802.
Can the SHR BB claim that ?

ron...UMMM
There is ALWAYS variables...no 2 sleds are identical unless built specifically the same...FAIRVIEW is a race...everyone shows up to race...no excuses.
When a video of an 872 beating an 880 surfaces...do I get to use ALL of these excuses?? I will be cut/copy and pasting my little fingers off
HEY Dave, since you are using "inferior" everything according to the new TETONICE, are you recommending full top end rebuilds every 1500 miles and/or 3-4 year wty on the 872?? (this jab is just for fun, no harm intended)...
fly- not sure what your trying to say??? thank you for the comps and as for floating my boat?? Fairview is a race...run what ya brung n hope you brung enough...nobody said it wasn't climbable, but scrat was climbing at 65+ mph...CAT 1100Ts are 180 hp at 10,000' the 880 is 180 hp at 1000'...subtract 3 hp per 1000' = 153ish hp (not counting the TQ advantage a turbo has)...no race gas, pump in scrats...high elevation/flat snow/hill drags the turbo will always have an advantage...3' of fresh my money is on the DOO vs a 1100T.
TETONICE...reference post #390 for a stock vs 880 difference...I'm no rocket scientist, but that has to be at least 3 sled lengths LOL.... call me when you have 250 plus BB builds out on the snow...until then
still having fun...still keeping it real...
you guys are the BEST salesman ever...maybe I should offer a commision
BJ
Dude, you can't even stand on your own 2 feet without mentioning the competition. ...SHR how many of your BB's have 3000 to 7000 miles on them without needing a new top end ?

Snowtech did a write up on the pro 800 motor.. They comp tested 30 or so pros with 1500 mi on them... Every one was down 10 to 30 plus lbs... We lost 2 in our group this year alone both under 1000 mi. So I call bs on no problems with new sleds..
And for the record my motor was an 860 for 2k and 880 for 2k.. Bottom has 4k on it.. Trued twice by john... I am doing new crank this yr... And since it's apart will do top as well.. I did pull valves to clean 100 mi ago and the coating is still on the pistons and they look like new..
Dude if your 860 ran good in the first place you wouldn't be doing an 880...Bottom has 4K on it.... I'm doing a new crank this year. And since it's apart will do the top end as well....Great Advertising for the SHR
Sounds Inferior to me when compared with stock.

I just did a buddies 04-800 that I sold him brand new it has 9169km never had apart all original parts even in the clutches, original flaking ring still .Good fuel and oil speaks for it self and regular clutch cleanings.Guy's really move on this was fun racing is rubbing(fun) ,but this is just redundant .Cheers
You know when you assume you make an *** out of you and me.. Must be tough to go through the day being so negative and closed minded.. And as far as rentals go.. 7000 in one season.. That is all trail at 5500 to 6500 rpm.. Yes if my gf was riding my sled it would go 7k.. And the reason for 860 first was at that time there was no 880 or 872 available. I have rented for the gf many times.. There is a line of foreign woman and kids to rent.. They are not using a sled like most of are.. How about you create a profile, pay for a membership, give us a location and show up on some rides... Then you come, and talk trash like the rest of us...Anyway I think we are all done with this thread and this guy.. Enjoy the rest of your season...

Right, you said it, rental sleds. Those aren't pushed to the limits, who are the people renting these sleds? Flatlanders. The flatlanders that push the limits have there own mtn sleds and bring them out here to ride them. I guarantee 75% of those miles are trail miles.
Regardless, I could care less. You've made clear from the start you have no idea what the hell you're talking about telling us a flat out drag race will show the same results as on the mountain.
Whatever you're smoking, please pass it around.
