SHR880 Challenge - bring it.

I Love How people say Dave slinging sh!t when he hasn't said sh!t on this BS post.:face-icon-small-disI'm glad Dave's to busy for this sh!t it's kinda childish .:face-icon-small-sho

I've heard of BLIND followers but sheet, all you have to do is read the signature on all the quotes Big John is responding to. Pretty much all Johns posts are responding to sh!t slinging by someone with the name Dave Trygstad ??? Guess he's not as busy as you claim? Just calling it as I see it man, not wasting another minute pointing out the obvious, just saying what I'm seeing.

reality check

Some old sayings ring very true...

"You cant please all of the people all of the time"

My WHOLE point here and the thread back in October was to show that DTR is NOT the only game in town...SHR has been on SW since 2001 helping 1000s and 1000s of DOO riders in ALL aspects of their machines, including fixing "other guys" motors and clutching...NOBODY can match (comprehend) what I have done in the last 13 years...PERIOD.

SHR does NOT want to take any customers from DTR, just enlighten newcomers that we offer "IMHO" a better option (I actually ride out west and offer COMPLETE mountain packages) when it comes to trail mods...be it a BB, trail port, engine rebuild, chassis mods, clutching, gearing options and improvements...I know how to get SHR power to the snow...plus my sterling customer service is second to none:face-icon-small-coo

The 880 challenge was simple, to show that SHR mountain sleds perform very well against any/all comers....:present:

YOU the customer can choose who you like and want to deal with to have a great season on your sled...that's the whole idea :face-icon-small-win

Now for some fun (because I can)...ALL you DTR attack minnions can keep on jabbering away...I and many others find YOUR behavior very unbecoming...like a bunch a teenagers or even worse, a bunch of obamma supporters...any shivers up and down your leg today turk??:faint:

Seriously Dave (KQ92 drop) "Barnhart, control your monkeys"

My phone just keeps ringing with new/repeat customers and dealers:amen:

Thank you...BJ

If either of these gentlemen built crap, they wouldnt still be in business. I'm not even sure what there is to argue about, competition is good!! They (and we) should be happy they have other builders out there to keep pushing and making us some happy sledders. Now show me which will heat up my lil smokies the quickest and we will have a valid argument! :beer;

When it comes to whiners on SW there is no competition for SHR.

I was going to stay out of this but I can't take it anymore. I don't know why you are even in this because we had an arguement a while back and you were saying how stupid it was to do anything to your sled and anything you do is not going to make you get up the hill any farther other than a turbo. This tells me you have a bone stock sled. Unless you have skin in the game I would give it a rest. Just so you know, I have skin in the game. I have an 872. I choose to stay to stay out of the bickering until now.

Would love to go to lincoln. Haven't been there for a while but have to get snowmobiling off my brain. I am starting to get swamped with concrete and all I did last week was sled. We got in a huge dump and one day just wasn't enough. Then went to wyoming and rode a supercharged pro for the day. Fun tickets are dwindling. I will have to take a rain check.:face-icon-small-sad

872

So here are the facts about the 872 that I was riding in Wyoming:

2013 XM with 872 Etec

Removed battery
Removed electric start
Mountain Fit hood - 14lbs
Team secondary clutch
J and T can
Fox Floats 3/4lb each 1 1/2lbs total
Stock rear skid and track
Rider - 220lbs

I ran into Idaho Slim on the mountain and he asked if I would run him on the hill. The first run we did not have someone to start us so Slim did the count and he beat me by 2 to 3 sled lengths. On the second and third runs Tim started us and I went all the way to the top of the hill and I was the first one there. We agreed to call it a draw after the third run.

I visited with Slim and Big John for about 30 minutes and rode the 880 with a three inch track.

I have ridden 860 Trygstad motors since 2009 with no problems. In 2013, I stepped up to the 872 and for 2014 the only changes I made to my 872 is a set of fresh pistons. I put 1,700 miles on it in 2013 and have 1,100 miles on it so far this year and it has been maintenance free. The Trygstad motors are an excellent motor and I receive great service! Thank you Dave.

I will be in Alpine, Wyoming next year at the same time to take my daughter for our yearly ride. :face-icon-small-coo

I've had plenty of skin in the game over the years 3 turbos & 7 bb's. 98% of the time my stock 163 XM goes every where (setup). At 10,000 feet the difference between stock & bb becomes very minimal. While a turbo at 10,000 feet has a huge advantage over stock or bb At the end of the day you end up paying a steep $price$ just to have a 2% edge a few day per year.

This might be the most truthful and accurate post on this whole website, much less this thread. I was starting to wonder what you were arguing about with everyone, but I can see you get the big picture.

Pfi572 copied and pasted something in post #334 there, genius that the great and all mighty dave trygstad signed off on claiming load of bs, so check yourself.

Funny how any time someone tried to line up a comparison like this and dave goes and contacts his cheer leaders and tells them not to partake in the "bogus 880 challenges" He did the same thing with scratley last year when he was planning to run his tms860...is dave fearful that he's going to loose?

The statements dave made in regards to the anonymous customer who ran against slim were completely false, as bj already put it and unlike dave, I was there from the minute slim bumped into the 872 and his daughter on the base of the hill and was in the pool
room that night when said customer did say after riding the 880 that it did pull harder.

As far as I'm concerned, if there are supposedly so many great running 872's out there and you're all having such great success with them, why is it so hard to get one on the hill for a real comparison?? You people comep with more excuses than a "stick in the mud" wife who wants to go straight to bed cuz she has a "headache"

In closing, grow up Dave...you're the only CHILD here in the sandbox, but you're not the only outfit in town and there are others who do amazing work, which shows, and SHR is one of them. I'm glad everyone here is happy with there builder/product/purchase but until one of you sh!t slingers is ready to man up ring what you bring, you look like the dorky kid on the playground running his mouth that his dad will beat you up. High voltage, mach, turke, you 3 come to mind...why don't you show us in a side by side comparison a slim suggested???? Does dave need more time in the lab to whip something up? I quite frankly could care less what a race trimmed sled does, I wanna see a TRAIL/MOUNTAIN sled run in a side by side comparison. Until you're willing to put up, you don't have much you can say.

Really....you really want to drag me back into this !!!! I have pmed scratley many times and talked BB, shr and Dave...no hard feelings. I have tried to set up a BB challenge in MAR, no one showed....where the f##k were you then? I was in Cooke City last year for the forum ride with my 872...where the f@@k were you then? Why dont you drag your flatland azz to Canada...pick a spot ...I dont care....and you and I can personally put this bullsh!t thread to rest for good. Sorry Scratley....Im done with this kindergarten class.

Are you sure your 52, or 12. I know your buddy buddy with Dave but WTH.

Hey Dallas,

I have reliable sources that say you have a heck of a time keeping that Turbo Cat of yours running? furthermore I merely made a comment in reply to someone saying that "all Big Johns are running" meaning how would that person know this unless it was a smaller number? as I'm sure Big John didn't call Scratley or however had posted that and said....hey all my engines are still running?? I think the best post I've read lately is that this post has run it's course!

Who are these so called reliable sources? My sled has ran great the last two trips out. The first trip out, I had some clutching issues that made it run crappy, a broken primary spring. Better check your sources.

Hey if we didn't have two builders, we wouldn't have this bs thread to talk trash on... I for one am glad that these two builders are so close... Makes it fun! As far as knowing how many 880s are running, yes I do talk to john a lot so I know.. I actually rode with him in Alpine in Feb.. That's when I asked him that question.. He has way more 860s than 880s though.. There were 5 of his 880s in Alpine that day.. Do I know a hard number no.. But he did say they were all running.. John has always been up front and honest with me... I agree this thread is spent... Fairview this weekend though... Lmao!!!!

I'd say it's more of who has their sled clutched/geared correctly than who's motor is better than the next...both motors are BA.

Pretty hard to "race" mountain sleds these days. Way to many variances in machine and snow conditions to be consistent

True story especially on deep powder days where the sled is being worked the hardest and under max load. Equally important in the deep snow is your rear suspension set up. Once the HP leaves the PTO how your rear suspension setup transfers the power from the drivers to the track in deep snow is key.

I run Twin 200 HP Superharged Verados on my boat if I run the wrong prop pitch all my power & efficiency is wasted same principle applies to my sleds.
