Haven't checked this thread forever. Sorry about your Father, Arcticcat_88. My deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

Just got back from hassler. Hard pack with about 4-6 inches of pow. Bears den hill came down this past week sometime, wow! talk about destruction. In lieu of last weeks events, man does a guy ever need to learn everything you can about avalanches. The whole hill came down and filled the gully up to the top. Attention everyone if you think you need to climb this hill during the rest of our season slap yerself!! Even if there were snow on this hill which Im sure there will be I dont think it will setup well enough from here on. Anyways nice and warm day with sunshine. Only ran into 1 other group of about 8 riders. Not as many as I thought would be out. I guess everyone is spooked from our recent incident. Remember you can still go mountain riding without hitting the dangerous hills fellas. Hope to see you all soon...........

Hey Slediot, should meet up for a ride in mid-late february, if the weather stays warm and keeps crashing these things. Guys should come hit up kakwa sometime too!
I'm not gonna ride till then, at least not out of the meadows anyway.

Just heard that the 2nd bowl in Silver Sands had an av this weekend. 14k, then right, through the cutblocks, up and over. The one with the big overhang on the left side, then to the right is the big hill and to the right of that you go up and hit a little lake then keep going up to the top. If you went over the top, you'd fall into the Outback bowl. Well, it was the climb to the little lake that let go right down to the rocks and grass. Was told 15 foot deep slad. Rider caused, and it hit another approaching rider. 1st rider came back over the edge and tumbled hard, and 2nd guy sat atop a large slab for the most part. All ok, but pretty scared. Large debris pile. Things are dropping all over the place. Be smart, be safe!!!

Hey Mr . 2-litre how's the pass lookin after this frickin' storm? Cant even seen out hte window R now. Aiming for a ride in Beaver this weekend coming up.........

Rode Calison Thursday

Couple inches of fresh, but windblown bad and very hard underneath. Needs a good dump to be worthwhile. Buddies tm1 broke a clutch plate and we had to stop early and come home. Runs awesome though.

I'm not really to sure where you go to get to good stuff in there. We went there as an easy ride for my buddies first outage on his turbo. Its full of cutblocks and SS type mogulled out roads hahaha. Theres some die-hards that love that place though, I suspect its all in knowing where to go in there. You can cut across to SS in there somewhere too, but I don't know any of the trails. Everywhere is fun in 3ft of fresh :D

anyone fight the cold and go out this weekend just woundering how hard the snow is? thinking about going sometime this week

Went out yesterday to Bickford. -35 at Willow Flats, but warmed up to -13 in the afternoon. Snow is rock hard with about 3" of slider lube on top. Pretty unforgiving and hard on equipment. Supposed to warm up this week and snow 5cm tonight. Need more snow!!!!!
