Was there on Saturday. At least 50 sleds out in the 2 ft of fresh powder. Awesome ride!! Seen 2 small slides, 1 on the backside of racehill 1 and the other 300yards to the left in 1 of the gullies that go up at a angle. Nothing to big or dangerous tho. Seen lots of spots where there should have been some sliding. Anybody got more info on the 5 that were buried in hassler? Brendan where did yo hear this?

Rode Silver Sands on Friday, meet up with some guys who knew there way around good, thanks to them. Tons of new powder, cut blocks are filling up good. Stayed in meadows and on a lake, the guys we saying even the backslopes on the road/trail were sliding.

Was riding in Silversands yesterday, just have a quick question (not too familiar with the area). From the cabin which way do you have to go to get up to some bowls/climbs? We have a blast in the creek bed playing, but didnt seen any clear trails up top.

Deep sypathy to the Families that are involved. It's been a terrible year and It's only the begining. I only hope that no more lives have to be lost. This is just not fair. Please people stay off the hills until the snow has a chance to setup. I had a friend burried at Kakwa on the weekend as well and lucky for him was able to be dug out. That slide was 250-300 yards across and 10 meters deep. Scary Scary stuff !!!!!!!:rose::rose::rose:

Hasler Avy Parking lot info.

Got to the truck on Sunday and a fellow pulled up and asked if we had heard anything. Said "No, heard anything about what?" He said the avy, some of his freinds were caught in a slide. Large group, 14, out of rycroft/spirit River. We heard some sleds so we waited for them to get there to get more info before we decided what to do. They started fueling so I asked if they needed any more fuel b/c I had some in a dead sled in the trailer. Some more sleds showed up during this and said that everyone had been found. These are the details that WE GOT. Sorry if there is any misconstrued (sp?) information.

4 people buried, one to the shoulders, the other three under. They found two of them right away and got them out. The last took 35-45minutes to get him out (he was Approx. 4m down). They could not revive him. (RIP) Due to danger and equipment they had to leave him for a safer time. The slide was on a hill on the backtrail in behind the backmeadow. From the talk it was a BIG slide. The whole face let go, right down to the rock.

Sorry for your loss.

There were six buried, three partial three completely. Two had their arms sticking out and were recovered quickly and one up to his neck and he dug himself out. One deployed his avalanche pack and stayed on top. We got the first buried one out in about 10-15 min. And the second in about 20 min. Then we found my dad after about 30-40 min. But it was to late. We tried to revive him but couldn't get him back. Five sleds are still buried. Be safe out there guys. RIP dad. Love you.

You have alot of courage to be able to come on here and tell everybody your story so soon. We're all proud of you. Do your best to keep your chin up during your time of mourning. Be proud of yourself even though the outcome wasn't a good ending. Try not to feel guilty or anything as you guys did the best you could. Mother nature is nasty at times and unfair, this is 1 of those times. Many prayers are going out for you and your family. My condolences from Damon Easingwood and Family. RIP

Deepest Sympathy
