Pine Pass Snow Conditions?

Rode Silver Sands to 13k and the old way in to Caron's Lake. Got to maybe -14 in the sun. -20 at the trucks. Snow not great. pretty fine powder and not very deep. Need more snow!!!!! Shoveled the cabin at 7 and warmed up a bit. Had fun anyways and broke in the new m7 top end, slightly increased though!

There was a big stink about all the sledders parked on the highways and the BCSF is getting involved, so hopefully we can keep them cleared all winter. May need some donations at some point, but we'll see.

Proper conduct should be applied here as well!

Mr. Two Litre donated a cat and Mr. Clutch is donating time to clear the parking lots this winter in the Pine Pass. They were all cleared as of Saturday Dec. 13th. Any donations to help pay for fuel can be made to the Rocky Mountain Riders Snowmobile Club in Mackenzie.

P.S. Ride Hard and Play Safe and take out what you bring in.

Ive heard of lots of people goin to hassler this weekend. Im thinkin of goin Friday instead less people, fresh tracks.

Littering idiots at Powder King

I rode Powder King my first trip of the year last week.
We have ridden this area for over 20 years now.
Wednesday we rode the Bijoux trail up to the cabin and
were greeted with a 4 ft pile of garbage & beer cans in the corner of the cabin. I had one industrial garbage bag and packed out about 35 pounds of empties which had obvoiusly been accumulating since last spring. I could not pack it all out, so next time someone is up, take a couple more bags & bring out the rest for all of us who want to take our kids up there in the future...
Nice job on keeping our riding areas open guys...
If you cant pack out your empties, drink at home.
I love seeing someone I don't know throw a beer can inn the snow in the mountains and stomp it out of sight. I will walk over, dig it out & put in my sled without saying a word. makes the litterbug look like a tool especially in front of all his buddies.
if the greenies ever saw a sight of this cabin & sent it to a governing body, it's just more ammo for shutting down more of OUR riding areas.
Think before you throw something in the corner & leave next time you idiots.
My rant is over.

if there is so called lots of people going to hasler then grab more and and lets have a nice big get together and see peoples sleds and maybe do some racing. just asking

see you all out there "giver ****"

well said Tillyman3. I have always wondered who are the freaks that litter the backcountry and leave there garbage behind. It was a full beer going in but an empty can't be taken out. Like your method of handling litterbugs can't wait to try that out on the next one I see. Lets all pick up after ourselves and unfortunately after other lesser beings.

I totally agree.....Take your freakin garbage home and don't come back!!!! EVER!!!! Plus there is no need to be drinking while out there anyway's. Drink when you get back to the hotel at night.

Renegad, whats the deal with you this year? Heard you sold the cabin, I see some new buildings going up though. Let me know when your riding. POK wants me to head towards Calgary this season, could be one of the tour destinations.

BRING OUT WAT U BRING IN!!! ppl like that are the reasons every where is on the edge of getting shut down .... u know wats as bad is buring ur garbage while there out there too!!! how do u not have the room for garbage which is liter and takes up less space then when u pack it in .... we need to crack down on ppl like that ... or the message doesnt fully get through u kno!
and i too am done my rant....

Awesome guys!! How far north are you plowing? There should be ways that we can get the costs covered for this type of work. Maybe through local club grants or district and municipal funding. Everyone talk to your city councils and MLAs. It is definately safer to plow these lots than have people parking on the highways. Speak up and keep these areas and the whole outdoors free of garbage.

Checked the weather, looks like it might be to cold for a ride this weekend -25 C locally. Have to aim for the new year now I guess. Heres a pic of the Hassler Cabin from last year for U guys.
